This morning our illustrious senior editor opined great concern about the implications of (my choice of terms) fifth column elements in government operating on behalf of liberal interests to, at a minimum, destroy the Trump presidency. This afternoon Gary Bauer writing at Campaign for Working Families had no less a foreboding commentary. Bauer is well versed in Washington ways and the power distribution system. Yesterday, I attended a meeting in New York City on an unrelated matter, but the people in that meeting were very well-connected politically. There was a consensus among them that the left is determined to destroy Donald Trump and Mike Pence out of fear — fear that it could lose its chance to forever transform America. Obama made tremendous progress in remaking America into a nation we would not recognize. But now Trump threatens to reverse the damage.
