HOW DOES ONE EXPLAIN G W BUSH?

Maybe the Bushes are masochists

AS PRESIDENT, HE WENT AROUND WASHINGTON WEARING THE BIGGEST “KICK ME” SIGN IN THE TOWN’S HISTORY…NOW HE LECTURES US ON HOW IMPORTANT THE ‘UNBIASED MEDIA’ IS

“We need an independent media to hold people like me to account…”

GEORGE W. BUSH “issued a full-throated defense” of the media this week in an appearance on NBC’s TODAY show.

That would be certainly an admirable and entirely appropriate thing to do…defend a free, fair, and independent press.

There are, however, just a few things wrong about Mr. Bush’s remarks, in our opinion.
The principal thing is: much of the media today is NOT “fair”, and as a practical matter isn’t even “independent”. Bush’s comments were in the context of President Trump’s recent criticisms of the very biased “fake news” outlets.

An editorial in the Investors Business Daily does an excellent job of recounting for Mr. Bush the way the liberal media assaulted him and his administration on an almost daily basis, and has succeeded in forever establishing for him one of the worst legacies in presidential history. The editorial also reminds the short term memory challenged former president of the abject homage the press paid to Barack Obama throughout his disastrous 8 year reign of unconstitutional and illegal overreach.

The most striking aspect of the editorial is how vividly it suggests that Bush is the most naive and utterly clueless guy who ever occupied the Oval Office. The only one who seems to come close is his Dad, George H W Bush, the 41st president of the US.

In regards to the latter, who cannot recall with astonishment the warm embrace the Bushes bestowed on their “adopted” son/ brother…Bill Clinton, the same guy who enjoyed the frequent company of the family at the same time he was, on a daily basis advancing the press’ meme that “(GW) BUSH LIED, PEOPLE DIED” because of America’s interventions in Afghanistan and Iraq?

Never in the 8 years of the “Obamanation” did the Bushes utter a political comment. They have been very free, however, in letting the American people know that they do not approve of the candidacy or the nascent Republican presidency of Donald Trump.

Hopefully, the IBD’s editorial can recall for the Bush family the reality of the harsh, biased hostility of large segments of the American media, and maybe at the very least, encourage them to go back to sleep.

The Bush sort of magnanimity is at the expense of others, and is insufferable. The kick me sign analogy is right on.

Supported the guy when few did. Not happy.
