Safari Park Rules in Little Rock neighborhood (and others)

Attendees “enjoying” at an inner city nightclub catering to/glorifying violence in song get shot-up, literally. The irony is lost on community leaders. The cultural harm to black community youth in particular, but also white youth fans is pervasive.  Fan’s of the genre Barack and Michelle Obama honored the “artistry” as residents of the White House. As a result the rot is reflected, intensified, not so subtly endorsed, and inflicted on others.

It’s almost impossible to add much to the comments made in this ‘treehouse’ story linked to above. Many of the comments in the thread provoke a kind of nostalgic sadness, reflecting on bygone public behavior and entertainment.

Just last night I watched an old video of the Drifters singing “Under the Boardwalk.” Row of guys in suits and ties, sweetly harmonizing to gentle, romantic lyrics. I wondered, “How in the world did we go so quickly from this to gangsta rap?”
