The “Real” resistance

To: Obama/Hillary supporters, AKA; “The Resistance”:

Take a trip down memory lane. It’s November, 2008. Barack Obama had just been elected. A majority of Americans were pleased with President Obama’s election. There wasn’t a hint of protest at his inauguration, the media liked the guy, and loved his family.

At that point in time, the Democrats had the Presidency, a 60-40 filibuster-proof Senate majority, and a 257-178 edge in the House. Full control of the process.

Then Obama started proposing and doing things that many disagreed with. The ACA (Obamacare) led the way. The President’s controversial social priorities and foreign policy were announced. Again, many disapproved.

The media said that President Obama and his policies were universally popular. Those who disagreed were cast as ignorant and/or racist. Some people took offense at that.

Thus began the “real” resistance. There were no riots, no blocked highways, no squelching liberal speech. The “Tea Party” faded, but the movement didn’t need a name, didn’t want a name. Invisible, the polls didn’t see them. They voted. Donald Trump’s the President. Neil Gorsuch is on The Supreme Court.

Today, the Republicans hold the Presidency, a narrow 51-49 majority in the Senate, and a 241-194 edge in the House. Shaky control of the process.

The media tells today’s “Resistance” they’ve been winning. The 2018 mid-terms are approaching. The media’s telling the “Resistance” they will win. When the Democrats lose seats, the media will tell the “Resistance” they did win.

I’m good with that.
