An enthusiastic Fox guy, he has a shot at replacing Shep if Chris falters

For years, Smith served not only as Fox News’ premier breaking news anchor but also as the most prominent banner carrier for the network’s team of straight-news reporters. His abdication positions Wallace as his natural successor.”
That’s how Bloomberg characterizes ‘Ol’ Shep’…the former Fox News “premier breaking news anchor”.
The Bloomberg news service writer is obviously smitten with Shep…and certainly not so much with Fox News. The writer, ‘Gerry’ Smith (“gender, non-binary”?) suggests that with Shep gone and the ‘renowned’ Chris Wallace as the only surviving ‘master journalist’ at the network, it will not be able to claim to be a “news” network.
“Horrors !!”
That means, presumably that only CNN, MSNBC, the ‘legacy’ networks, as well as Bloomberg, of course, will be the places viewers must go if they want the ‘real’ unvarnished, honest, truthful, unbiased “news”!
Of course, “Gerry” does allow as how, if you should happen to stumble onto Fox at the right time of day and week, you can still get the straight dope from Chris Wallace, and, I would suggest, judging from “Gerry’s” writing, “Chief Justice” Andy Napolitano…the other highly objective, non-partisan “news” personality still at FNC.
