Sen. Elizabeth Warren is calling for voter ID to be replaced with a ‘sworn statement of identity’ Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is calling for relaxed voting measures to be introduced ahead of the November elections, which includes dropping the current requirement for voters to present ID and replacing it with “a sworn statement of identity instead.”
On Tuesday, Warren formally joined other progressive Democrats in demanding mail-in voting for the presidential election.Warren, however, is taking it a step further by also pushing for a ban on cleaning voter rolls and urging officials to allow eligible individuals to vote “with a sworn statement of identity instead of a voter ID.”
