Yard sign issue not isolated?

Got a note from a guy in the neighborhood who has somehow fashioned himself, to some, as a Pro-Trump, ‘super-conservative’, with some connections to key state GOP political figures:

“Walking through the neighborhood it looks like we have been invaded by progressives. Not many Trump signs. I believe the conservative neighbors don’t want the grief and will make their voices heard in the voting booth. I had no idea that we had so many ignorant people in our neighborhood.”

He believes that our “conservative neighbors don’t want the grief and will make their voices heard in the voting booth”.

Guess who is displaying no Trump-Pence sign in his yard…in fact, displays no political yard signs at all?

Yes, this ‘staunch conservative’ displays no political signs in his yard during this crucial election season…not even a “Trump-Pence” sign.

What to make of it?

a) Does he fear ‘the grief’…but will make his voice heard in the voting booth? Maybe.

b) Does the absence of a public statement of support for a certain candidate mean they will vote for that candidate? If so, then who is the candidate for whom a person will make their voice heard in the voting booth? It could be a ‘progressive’ who doesn’t “want the grief”…maybe doesn’t want a neighbor referring to them as a “progressive, one of the many ignorant people in our neighborhood”…?

c) As one who makes his ‘convictions’ known to those whom he’s pretty sure shares them, our friend, however, Is obviously not willing to make them known publicly. Is it because he feels surrounded by so many “ignorant people” in his neighborhood, and is thus not willing to ‘risk the grief’?

To an extent he has a legitimate point. I have a Trump-Pence sign in my yard. No other in my immediate neighborhood has any and no one has engaged me from either ‘side’ re. this “statement”.

What’s that about?                       dlh
