DEMOCRATS’ CORONAVIRUS BILL WOULD ELIMINATE STATES’ VOTER ID REQUIREMENTS     (excerpt*)

Tucked inside House Democrats’ new coronavirus bill is language that would create a loophole in states’ voter ID requirements, allowing people to cast ballots without having to prove who they are.

While the crux of the bill, revealed Tuesday, is a massive injection of taxpayer aid for states, localities and federal agencies dealing with the virus, Democrats also tackled some of their long-standing political goals.

One section of the bill would require states to allow at least 15 days of in-person early voting before Election Day this year, and to also allow voting by mail for any reason, overriding states that have more limited policies.

The new bill would also require that absentee ballots be counted if they arrive up to 10 days after Election Day.

And the legislation says that states that require voter IDs to cast a ballot must allow voters to meet the requirement by self-certifying to their own identity.

The National Conference of State Legislatures says 36 states have some voter ID requirement. About a half dozen of those are “strict” photo ID laws, requiring someone who wants to cast a ballot without photo ID to return with proof within three days for their ballot to be counted.

It’s one thing to have a fool for a president…but when it’s a dangerously seriously mentally impaired, old fool who has probably never made a good decision in his 40 “good” years in government, this country would have a problem!

A glimpse of what the N Y Magazine thinks are some of Biden’s Ideas if he were to win the presidency should scare the hell out of every American…and the entire Free World!

The likelihood that the addled candidate, ‘Sleepy Joe’, would last only a few months in the Oval Office before the men in white coats carry him out provides little comfort when we see some of the people he’s considering as his running mate.

Excerpts from an article in the magazine include SOME of Joe’ s “ideas”. We noted some in bold face below:

Joe Biden Is Planning An FDR-Size Presidency

“… after not just four years of Trump but almost a full year of death and suffering. The pandemic is breaking the country much more deeply than the Great Recession did, Biden believes, and will require a much bigger response. No miraculous rebound is coming in the next six months.”

“Biden will presumably.. (be)..developing a detailed map of what will be necessary come Inauguration Day. Long before the pandemic, he described a range of actions he’d take on day one, from rejoining the Paris climate agreement to signing executive orders on ethics, and he cited other matters, like passing the Equality Act for LGBTQ protections, as top priorities. Already his recovery ambitions have grown to include plans that would flex the muscles of big government harder than any program in recent history. To date, the federal government has spent more than $2 trillion on the coronavirus stimulus — nearly three times what it approved in 2009. Biden wants more spending. “A hell of a lot bigger,” he’s said, “whatever it takes.” He has argued that, even if you’re inclined to worry about the deficit, massive public investment is the only thing capable of growing the economy enough “so the deficit doesn’t eat you alive.” He has talked about funding immense green enterprises and larger backstop proposals from cities and states and sending more relief checks to families. He has urged immediate increases in virus and serology testing, proposing the implementation of a Pandemic Testing Board in the style of FDR’s War Production Board and has called for investments in an “Apollo-like moonshot” for a vaccine and treatment. And he floated both the creation of a 100,000-plus worker Public Health Jobs Corps and the doubling of the number of OSHA investigators to protect employees amid the pandemic. If he were president now, he said in March, he would demand paid emergency sick leave for anyone in need and mandate that no one would have to pay for coronavirus testing or treatment. As the crisis deepened, he said he would forgive federal student-loan debt — $10,000 per person, minimum — and add $200 a month to Social Security checks.

This is all only what he believes should be done now before he even ascends to the presidency; by then, he thinks, the country could be in a much darker hole than it is today, presumably requiring even more federal investment and intervention. David Kessler, who led the Food and Drug Administration under both George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton and has been speaking with Biden regularly about the crisis, recently told me the former vice-president “understands that until we have a vaccine or a therapeutic entity that can be used as a preventative, the virus is still going to be with us and that we’re going to constantly be putting out mini-epidemics.” Biden, he said, “has a very considerable grasp of what a realistic future holds.” He paused. “It is not rose colored.”

Trey Gowdy admits ‘mistake’ in defending FBI during Russia investigation

Trey Gowdy backpedaled his defense of the FBI during the Russian investigation after Fox News host Tucker Carlson confronted him about the matter.

The former South Carolina congressman said on Monday’s Tucker Carlson Tonight that he was mistaken to trust the FBI and Justice Department while special counsel Robert Mueller was conducting his inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Carlson played Gowdy a clip of his own 2018 remarks in which he said, “As of now, I think Chris Wray and Rod Rosenstein are stunned whenever people think Trump is the target of their investigation … I am even more convinced that the FBI did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got, and that it has nothing to do with Donald Trump.”

Carlson then asked if he still maintains that position, and Gowdy responded in the negative, claiming he reneged the opinion three weeks after making the statement.

“I went over to the Department of Justice. I sat there for four hours. That’s when I saw that Peter Strzok actually initiated and approved Crossfire Hurricane. That’s when I saw the exculpatory information on George Papadopoulos. That’s when I saw, for the very first time, that it was the Trump campaign mentioned in that predicate document,” he said.

“My mistake was relying on the word of the FBI and the DOJ and not insisting on the documents,” he added.

In April 2019, Mueller released his long-awaited report on Russian election interference, which did not find evidence of criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. The investigation did, however, find substantial evidence that Russian actors actively attempted to influence the election.

Gowdy said congressional reports intended to ascertain Russia’s activities during the 2016 election validate Mueller’s conclusion about the country’s attempts, adding that he still believes the investigation was “not a witch hunt.”  …

The extent, the cost, the hype, the extreme collateral damage — BUT IT WAS NOT A WITCH HUNT!!!??? with the FBI consumed with finding something even if they had to make it up???!!!

Gaetz tosses Gowdy under the bus  

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) absolutely torched former Republican congressman Trey Gowdy for backing the FBI in 2018 and for not supporting an effort to subpoena Democrats while he was in power to defend Mike Flynn.

Gaetz dropped the bombshell accusations against his fellow Republican while being interviewed by Sean Hannity on Fox News Friday.

“I’m glad you went through Trey Gowdy’s exquisite questions in 2017 to these corrupt officials,” Gaetz said sarcastically.

“I guess my question, Sean, would be why was it then that in late May of 2018 that Trey Gowdy went on Martha MacCallum’s show and said that the FBI did exactly what all of our fellow Americans would have wanted them to do and it had nothing to do with Donald Trump. Both of those things have now been proven to be not true and it seems that Gowdy’s brilliant lawyering back in 2017 that we’re only able to see now proves those two statements untrue,” he continued.

“The number one question I get asked from Americans is why no one has gone to jail and been held accountable,” Gaetz added.

“Unfortunately when [Rep. Devin] Nunes (R-Calif.) and [Rep. Mark] Meadows (R-N.C.) and [Rep. Jim] Jordan (R-Ohio) and I wanted subpoena power it was Paul Ryan and Trey Gowdy that wouldn’t give us that subpoena power. Democrats sent out hundreds of subpoenas,” he continued.

“When he had control and could have run this to ground in 2017, we didn’t send out one single subpoena, not one, and that’s a failure of our Republican leadership!” Gaetz concluded.

Gaetz posted the video of his appearance on Hannity and also a video of Gowdy saying in 2018 that the FBI had acted properly in interviewing and pursuing the prosecution of Mike Flynn.

Gaetz was referring to recent revelations in the prosecution of Mike Flynn that led to the Department of Justice dropping charges against him. Trey Gowdy has been among those excoriating the FBI for the manner in which Flynn was interviewed. “I have every expectation they wanted to flip Flynn on the president, the problem was no one with the campaign was colluding with Russia!” said Gowdy on MacCallum’s show.”Martha, this is not the department of let’s see if we can get away with it! And it’s not the department of let’s see who we can get fired! It is the Department of Justice!” Gowdy added.

THIS IS IT! The ‘Fakest’ Fake News Story of the week…the month…maybe the decade!!

Station KREM in Walla Walla, Washington reported that the County’s health officials were telling news sources that county residents were holding “Coronavirus Parties”, with party goers mingling in violation of ‘social distancing’ guidelines, hoping to contract the virus and then become immune!

(Story notes the commissioners later retracted the story…I’ll bet they did!…no mention that the “health officials” confessed top being so stupid they were resigning.)

The ridiculous story coming out of the state of Washington is no surprise…after all, they elected one of the dumbest governors in the country outside of Michigan, Jay Inslee, (recall he was a ’20 Democrat presidential candidate (who wasn’t?) who ran on a “stop climate change” platform!

Washington Democrats and the Associated Press were probably sorry to see this story retracted…they were no doubt ready to claim the parties were President Trump’s idea and staged at his direction.      dlh

WALLA WALLA COUNTY, Wash. — Walla Walla County leaders are responding on Thursday after health officials walked back their claims that people in the county were holding “coronavirus parties” in an attempt to contract the disease.
County health officials had previously said they knew of multiple instances of people hosting these parties, thinking they would be infected with the disease then develop immunity.

The story got widespread attention and was picked up by local media outlets like KREM, in which an official did an interview explaining the claims. The story even received national attention from publications like the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Associated Press.

The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners released a statement on Thursday afternoon, saying they are “reviewing the facts around this incident.”
“It has been brought to the attention of Walla Walla County Commissioners through the Walla Walla County Department of Community Health that social gatherings are beginning to occur. One of these gatherings had been reported initially as a ‘coronavirus party’ then later identified as a social gathering, such as a birthday party or Easter service. We are reviewing the facts around this incident,” the statement reads.

After the story ran on KREM on Wednesday, a Walla Walla County Health Department spokesperson reached out to “recall” their comments and explained that the parties weren’t intended to infect people.

In DC “it” comes piled high, or in various degrees of compaction

What sets J. Christian Adams apart from the Peter Strzoks is that Adams IS the good man who does the something that aims to stop evil from prevailing.

He risked his livelihood and the very security of his family. He made the most powerful statement most individuals can make.

He gave up his career rather than be a party to what he knew was an “evil” perpetrated by his agency’s leadership upon the American people.

“But can’t Peter Strdzok and his paramour Lisa Page make the same righteous claim?”, one might ask. Their communications exchanges suggest that they saw “evil” in the behavior, motivation, and actions of President-elect/President Trump.

It’s a fair question…particularly if all your information is derived from PBS or the ‘Mainstream Media”.

The couple took a risk…one more calculated, perhaps, than Mr. Adams. They believed with good reason that their actions would likely never be exposed. They were aligning themselves with the awesome power of both the previous presidential administration and what they were fairly confident was to be the next administration. They enjoyed the full protection of compliant media.

But, frankly, we do believe that there are still more good Americans, devoted to serving and protecting the American people, and living up to there solemn oaths to honor the Constitution, than there are Strzoks and Pages.

But also, it is a brutal truth that those good people, present and former, members of those agencies surely knew just what the Obama, Holder, Lynch, Comey gang were doing and consciously chose to do far too little to “stop their evil from prevailing”.

Those hard working, highly professional, superbly trained agents surely knew that dark motivations lay behind the actions they were ordered to take. If they were not aware at the time, their skills and training, and agency contacts would have soon alerted them after the fact. Like any large nationwide organization, agents and support personnel throughout the various offices and locations of the FBI also surely knew. The agents in the Butte MO. field office are almost certain to have colleagues with whom they’ve served in other places in their careers and continue to stay in contact with to exchange gossip, rumors, and factual information internal within their agency.

What was going on in an EricHolder/Loretta Lynch DOJ and the James Comey FBI was certainly widely known by the good men and women of those entities. But it would seem that, while few were Strzoks or Pages, fewer still were J. Christian Adamses.

It is a harsh judgement and it is made with full realization that the question, answerable only when you are the one directly confronted with it, can be most fairly asked: “What would we have done?”           DLH
