Here is a Daily Caller story on the Venezuela election. Through much of the day Sunday, international news organizations were reporting, with an interesting degree of certainty, that exit polls were showing that Hugo Chavez had lost.
I don’t think it’s very surprising, however, that the “official” results now
show a clear victory for Hugo.
I liken it very much to the current climate in the US. I might even suggest that
the “official” results are determined by the Venezuelan equivalent to our own
Bureau of Labor Statistics, given that it’s proclamations are easily predictable
when the regime needs a given “official result”!
Reading the AP story after the results were announced . . . well maybe it’s just me . . . but it seems a little like a Hugo Chavez news release. There are even some lines in it that could be transferred directly to current news stories about this US administration. I don’ t think you’ll have any problem seeing which ones, or even why Obama would have Hugo’s vote. DLH
