I’ve never thought Mitch McConnell has ever said anything particularly memorable or eloquent. But his comment yesterday seems to me to say it all about the dangerous, lying fraud now residing in the White House. In responding to Obama’s admission of his administration’s bungling of the ACA roll-out and policy defects, Andrew Malcolm writing at IBD quotes McConnell as saying:
“What makes this admission even worse is the fact that it was prompted not by the heartbreaking stories of millions of Americans, but by the private pleadings of a handful of endangered Democrats.” Read the entire worthwhile article here.
Sally Zelikovsky at American Thinker purports to define 17 rules for conservative and Republican success and intra-Party harmony. Many or most have unqualified merit, a couple are contradictory and others arguably (what else) tendentious while missing the actual issue. The article seems to imply that rivals are equally to blame in most problem areas. Our view is that the establishment is not going to let up pushing its views, working to protect its hegemony, and it has most of the cards and most of the blame for the lack of Republican predominance. SZ writes:
Yes, Virginia. There really is a split in the Republican Party. There always has been and always will be. But the acrimony is spinning out of control and the only people benefitting are the Democrats.
It disturbs me when I’m labeled a sellout if I say something positive about an “establishment” Republican and it’s equally infuriating when I’m lectured that Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are part of a “suicide coalition.”
Yes, Sally. I’m disturbed too. But I’m “disturbed” that the “Establishment”” spends more money on opposition research against Tea Party candidates than against Democrats. I’m “disturbed” that people like Karl Rove and Reince whathisname quickly label TP candidates like Cuccinelli as “flawed”! Who is more “flawed” than Terry McCauliffe!!??
And then, there’s Mitch and Karl, and the US Chamber of Commerce, and the rest of the “Establishment” members and cronies who publicly announce their declaration of “war” on the Tea Party!
Aw…but let’s just let bygones be bygones and nominate John McCain again. No thanks. The article makes worthy points, but read the comments in response for some more rebuttal and to get a feel for the mood conservatives are in, how these are not ordinary times.
Alan Erickson writing at American Thinker refers to :
Ezekiel Emanuel, ObamaCare architect, Ph.D, bioethicist, Harvard M.D., . . . He is the president’s top healthcare adviser
He is famous for promoting the idea that medical resources should be primarily directed in support of adolescents and young adults. The elderly and infants should take a back seat, especially if medical resources become scarce. Many have accused Ezekiel of advocating a ‘bioethical’ stance that would allow the very old and the very young to die, untreated, in order to focus on productive members of society in whom we’ve invested time and money, i.e., a system of rationing.
Great idea, Zeke! Let’s implement and start with Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and some other elderly Democrats (definitely not to forget the esteemed, soon-to-be former Senator from Iowa, Tom Harkin) and save the big bucks by denying them all future medical treatment and therapies…except of course, Obama’s little “comfort pills”. (Note: How about a Nobel Prize for the very prescient Sarah Palin?)
