WHAT WAS IT THE “LONE RANGER” SHOW — — USED TO BE INTRO’ ‘D WITH?…”LET US RETURN TO  THOSE EXCITING DAYS OF YESTERYEAR…”

Let’s do that as we regain our composure after being shocked…shocked I tell you…over  Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson’s vulgar, disgusting, reprehensible, unforgivable, hurtful, culturally destructive comments regarding his confusion over the appeal of the act of gay love…as everyone else knows, a beautiful expression of true and lasting affection, celebrated around the world (except maybe Russia).

It is pretty generally agreed, at least in the MSM, the entertainment industry, and  in “proper society” in general, that there is no place in TV broadcasting for those gross and offensive comments. No self-respecting TV network would be expected to tolerate this kind of thing.

But, back to “yesteryear”. I’ve waited for someone, anyone, to recall some of the great moments in television history which raised the level of cultural discourse. Some have recalled Miley Cyrus’s inspiring twerking performance…a cultural high watermark which earned her  an interesting or influential person of the year recognition.

But no one has yet reminded  us of the truly beautiful way in which CNN introduced 2013 to the world last New Year’s Eve. Here for  the historical record is why Phil Robertson must be castigated and Kathy Griffin brought back for this year’s New Year’s Eve broadcast:

Whose Idea Was It To Let Kathy Griffin On Live TV?

  1. Carlos Danger says:

Phil Robertson said all of his “controversial” comments in an interview with GQ. It’s not like it was part of the show. Word is they have a “gay babe boss ” at A&E now and she panicked and fired Phil because she was looking out for a few gay employees.
