Here’s how it’s done in the world’s largest banana republic

Screen Shot 2015-07-21 at 10.36.40 PMProbably not unprecedented, given the arrogance and attitude issues that most Obama appointees seem to share, but this sarcastic, stunningly disrespectful exchange during a Congressional Committee hearing by the Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Sara Saldana is noteworthy. Smugness and contempt for anyone who disagrees with Obama a re basic elements of his personality. They are also, as this incident vividly illustrates hallmarks of the Obama administration:

“(Senator) Vitter: “This has been going on for years and you still are not prepared to say that there is ever going to be any negative consequence to those [sanctuary] jurisdictions. When is that going to change?”

th-6Saldaña: “I presume when you all address comprehensive immigration reform; perhaps it can be addressed there.”

Vitter described Saldaña’s answer as “ridiculous” and kept pressing: “And absent Congress passing that [Senate immigration] bill, that you and the Obama Administration prefer, you don’t think right now we can stop sanctuary cities from flaunting federal law? You don’t think right now there can be any negative consequences when they do not properly cooperate under existing federal law with immigration enforcement?”

Saldaña gave a muddled reply: “That’s what I understand that all of you are working on.”

In a Congressional Committee hearing, this administration pipsqueak flat out tells a member of the US Senate that “enforcement” agency will NOT “enforce” until Congress passes legislation the president likes!

And you think we’re not dealing with a tinpot dictator?      DLH
