Meet Boehner the Younger

Dear Paul:  Frankly we are just not that into you, but the Republican girls might be

Paul Ryan has agreed to be Speaker if the entire Republican House caucus agrees to meet his conditions. And we can report he has several others (other than the ones for public consumption)

Chief among Ryan’s conditions as I understand them, is every GOP member of the House must line up on the Capitol steps and one by one kiss his a–.

The establishment members, I hear, have eagerly agreed, asking only if it would be all right to kiss both cheeks.

Reid gives surprise support to Ryan as Speaker

My, My, Ryan may get as much support from Democrats as he does from Republicans (Gutteriez, Reid, who else?)

What does that say to conservatives? to voters? to the establishment?

To me it says the GOP is getting another Boehner…or worse!

From the Politico article:

Harry Reid just gave Paul Ryan an unwelcome endorsement for speaker.
The Democratic leader offered his surprise backing for Ryan (R-Wis.) to assume the House speakership, saying he hopes Ryan runs and wins the job because he’s a “Paul Ryan fan.”

“He appears to me to be one of the people over there that would be reasonable. I mean look at some of the other people,” Reid said. “I don’t agree with him on much of what he does. I think what he’s done with Medicare and Medicaid, what he’s wanted to do I disagree with. But generally speaking we’ve been able to work with him.”

Indeed, Ryan’s work with Reid lieutenant Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) on a two-year budget deal in 2013 remains a bipartisan highlight for a Congress otherwise beset by gridlock. But did Reid hurt Ryan by praising him?
The Nevada Democrat shrugged when asked if he was giving Ryan a kiss of death as the Wisconsin lawmaker weighs a speakers bid amid ever-growing criticism from the right for his policy positions.

“I just speak the truth,” Reid said. “If it helps him fine, if it doesn’t that’s too bad.”

Seriously, given his record, for example, how good a spokesman will Paul Ryan be for Republican efforts to stop illegal immigration and not reward it with amnesty and welfare?  Answer – fine – there won’t be any Republican efforts.

One Response to Reid – Pelosi – Obama puckering up for Ryan

  1. Gus says:

Not only have establishment House GOP members implored Paul to allow them to kiss not one but both cheeks, Ryan has demanded they pay him a fee if they wish to take “selfies” while doing so. Hear they’ve agreed to that demand too!
