GOPe response to Obama echos Democrat narrative

  • We thought it was Paul Ryan giving the GOPe response (sans beard)
  • Grand approval of Nicki Haley comments – from the Obama White House
  • Our response to the GOPe response

If Nikki Haley GOPe Governor of South Carolina speaks for Republicans then as oblivious as she is to the nature of the immigration problem and citizen voter sentiment, Republicans will lose for lack of enthusiasm. Keep in mind that a 45 % Democrat vote is normally hard wired and soft Dems and independents need a reason to turn out and vote Republican.

“No one who is willing to work hard, abide by our laws, and love our traditions should ever feel unwelcome in this country.”

First off, there is no requirement or need to demonstrate “love of our traditions” for citizenship and voting, indeed political correctness and diversity require other traditions be exalted and protected. And Jeb Bush or Barack Obama could not have said it better “Bring us your huddled masses” perhaps ( with no implication as to limits). But, of course, Ms. Haley obligingly added the line that is supposed to ‘qualify’ the amnesty champions’  position:

“At the same time, that does not mean we just flat out open our borders. We can’t do that. We cannot continue to allow immigrants to come here illegally. And in this age of terrorism, we must not let in refugees whose intentions cannot be determined.

“We must fix our broken immigration system. That means stopping illegal immigration. “

Clean shaven Paul Ryan

“Must fix our broken immigration system”. This is such a steaming pile of crap, and everybody knows it…both to the ‘open borders’ crowd as well as thoughtful Americans. Our immigration system is “broken” all right. And both parties broke it…by simply ignoring the laws. We have an immigration “system”, made up of laws and provisions properly and Constitutionally  passed by Congress and signed  by previous presidents.

For years, though, presidents from both parties have ignored those laws and provisions while simultaneously deploring how “broken” the “system” is. And that combination is the problem.  Each party has its motives for doing so…and everybody knows it.

The Democrats want the votes that migrants (non-citizens) who come here from despotic countries and dysfunctional societies —  easily attracted to and captivated by the social benefit structure Democrats maneuver for them and Republicans in Congress  help fund.   They are thus eager to help elect Democrats who are more than anxious to provide ever more taxpayer benefits.

The Republican establishment has their motivation…to pay back their donor class who hungers for the cheap labor those migrants offer. All in the name of “acts of love”.  The feel good moment, regardless of portending insolvency and future third world status for all.

The real and enduring question must be answered in this next election…or the lies will continue and the resulting destruction of America will be irreversible: When our government leaders have in recent history, broken and defied current immigration laws with impunity, why should anyone believe they will not do the same to any new laws, however “comprehensive”, when it becomes in their interest to do so?

Nikki you want to answer that? Jeb? Marco ? Chris? “the mailman’s son”? Anybody?
Governor Nikki Haley Just PROVED Beyond Any Doubt That UniParty DC Republicans are Intentionally Disconnected…

Sundance writing at Conservative Tree House:

Forget the nonsense from President Obama’s State of The Union diatribe of same/same left-wing nonsense cloaked in claims of incivility from his opposition.  Forget that nonsense, it was predictable. Most of the electorate were more interested in whether the DC Republicans had received the message within a six-month-leading Donald Trump candidacy.

And…. the answer is a resounding NO !    . . .

“We as Republicans need to own that truth. We need to recognize our contributions to the erosion of the public trust in America’s leadership. We need to accept that we’ve played a role in how and why our government is broken. (link)

….And then Haley went on to outline exactly the same lines of horsepucky spouted by the same White House who got everything they wanted in the recent and ridiculous Omnibus spending bill. Notable in almost every word she uttered including the continual demand for comprehensive immigration reform and open borders: . . .

….“During anxious times, it can be tempting to follow the siren call of the angriest voices. We must resist that temptation“…. a transparently obvious statement targeted directly at candidate Donald Trump and his supporters. But what the GOPe is really doing here is targeting 50% of their own party. Trump holds the vast majority of support as the frontrunner for the past six months, and the insufferable elites can’t stand it – so they target their own base of supporters with scorn and abject disdain.   . . .

The conservative critique of Nikki Haley’s response is compelling enough but that did not stop her from digging a deeper hole. Consider this article reflecting Nikki Haley’s comments:
