Bolton questions if Russian hacks were ‘false flag’    (excerpt)

John Bolton, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations who has been floated for a possible role in President-elect Donald Trump’s State Department, questioned reports of Russian interference in the U.S. presidential election.

“It is not at all clear to me, just viewing this from the outside, that this hacking into the [Democratic National Committee] and the [Republican National Committee] was not a false flag operation,” he told Fox News’s Eric Shawn on Sunday.  . . .

But, “if you think the Russians did this, then why did they leave fingerprints” that led the CIA to its conclusion, Bolton questioned.

“We would want to know who else might want to influence the election and why they would leave fingerprints that point to the Russians. That’s why I say until we know more about how the intelligence community came to this conclusion we don’t know whether it is Russian inspired or a false flag.”

FBI not so sure it is Russian government op.  Matt Vespa at Townhall

Contrary to claims made by Democrats about Russian interference helping President-elect Donald J. Trump, there is no definitive proof that the Kremlin ordered such cyber attacks. It’s all based on circumstantial evidence, innuendo, and anonymous sources that are bound by an apparent inter-agency feud between the CIA and the FBI. On December 10, The Washington Post reported that both agencies were not on the same page, . . .  (lengthy objective analysis – worthy read)

Putin must be delighted –  gets creds and results  –  and Dems have a whipping boy

Russian hackers and American hacks .  The CIA that misjudged Putin for years is now sure of his motives.    Wall Street Journal    (excerpts)

The new information in these latest stories is less about new intelligence than it is a judgment about Russian motives.  . . .

Keep in mind that almost no one thought Mr. Trump would win the election, and it’s hard to believe the Russians were the sole prophetic exception. The hacking began last spring, and the Russian motive could have been to gather information to embarrass or blackmail Clinton officials once they were in office. The Kremlin could also merely have wanted to sow confusion and doubt on the election result.

If the CIA really does have “high confidence” about Mr. Putin’s motives, this would also be the first time in recent history. These are the same seers who missed the Russian invasion of Crimea, missed the incursion into southern Ukraine, and missed Mr. Putin’s foray into Syria. The intelligence community also claimed “high confidence” in 2008 for its judgment that Iran had suspended its nuclear-weapons program. That judgment conveniently shut down any further Bush Administration action against Iran. But a year later, in the Obama Administration, our highly confident spooks disclosed Iran’s secret Fordo underground facility.    . . .

A bipartisan group of Senators, including Republicans John McCain and Lindsey Graham, has called for a Senate investigation into the election-related hacks. That’s fine with us as long it doesn’t become the partisan exercise that Democrats appear to want.

But why wait? U.S. intelligence services already know most of what they’re likely to learn. Release the evidence now. Let’s see if the Kremlin really did steal RNC emails, and let’s also hear from those who don’t share CIA Director John Brennan’s “high confidence.” The last thing Americans need is for an outgoing Administration that is still sore over losing an election to assist Vladimir Putin in poisoning the result.

th-7Russian to Judgment by Stilton Jarlsberg at HopeNChange    (excerpt)

And just how “meta” is the accusation that Russia tried to corrupt our election process by releasing proof (and plenty of it) that Hillary and the DNC had already corrupted the election process? Who’s the actual criminal here, and who’s simply a witness?

Hope n’ Change actually thinks it pretty unlikely that Russia had anything to do with the release of damning information about Hillary and her cohorts in crime. After all, if they had hacked all this dirt (not to mention every Top Secret hosted on her email server) wouldn’t they want Hillary to win so that they’d own an American President because of all the blackmail potential?

That’s why we think it far more likely that the source of the hacked material was an individual patriot from the Democratic party or a domestic intelligence agency who saw this as the only way to save America from a corrupt, shrieking, money-grubbing, two-faced, brain-damaged harpy with a gift for screwing up every policy issue she’s ever touched.

Obama’s highly publicized demand for a report on computer espionage is supposed to be rushed to his Oval Office desk (no doubt to be left between his fingernail clippings and scuff marks from the heels of his shoes), but the results may never be made public. Which is hardly surprising, considering that the actual purpose of Obama’s call for an investigation is simply to delegitimize the upcoming Presidency of Donald Trump.

In other words, a hostile government really is trying to subvert the will of American voters. It just happens to be the government currently in Washington.

Ted Kennedy solicited Russian interference in 1984 election now Democrats Hypocritically Play the Victim of Russia     Thomas Gallatin at Patriot Post  (excerpt)

Self-reflection, self-criticism and self-correction are foreign concepts to Democrat leaders. They continue to throw out every possible excuse for why they lost the election — except the primary reason that many Americans just didn’t buy their rhetoric or prescription of continuing failed policies. The latest blame-game play for Democrats is to self-identify as the victims of a masterful Russian hacking plot designed to swing the election to Donald Trump. While there is no solid evidence to support this claim, the Leftmedia fakery machine quickly rushed to bolster the narrative with reports that unnamed U.S. intelligence sources have concluded that the Russians intervened and helped Trump’s campaign.

What is so disingenuous about this current charge is that those responsible for creating the climate for Russia’s aggression are Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Remember, it was Obama who chided Mitt Romney in 2012 for his “1980s” foreign policy concerns regarding the threat of Russia’s growing geopolitical power. And there was Secretary of State Clinton’s infamous “reset” with Russia, providing it with greater opportunity to continue exploiting the administration’s feckless foreign policy. Perhaps the greatest hypocrisy of all is Clinton deciding to break the law in using an unsecured personal server that undoubtedly was hacked, probably by the Russians. In other words, it is Democrat leaders, not Republicans or Trump, who are responsible for creating the mess in which they now find themselves.

But, again, the concerns over the integrity of the U.S. electoral system seem a rather hypocritical charge for the Democrats to make given their history. In the early 1990s, it was discovered through the release of Soviet-era documents that Sen. Ted Kennedy had secretly asked the Russians to interfere on behalf of the Democrat Party in the 1984 elections. And now after losing, Democrats are wringing their hands over the integrity of the U.S. electoral system? While they clearly are seeking to delegitimize Trump’s presidency and even the whole American electoral process, they are playing right into Putin’s hands.

Being frustrated over losing is understandable. Seeking to destroy the legitimacy of your opponent’s victory is vindictive.

Good-God, Obama has no shame – tried to influence Israeli election

Obama admin. sent taxpayer money to campaign to oust Netanyahu    Washington Times (excerpt)

The State Department paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayers grants to an Israeli group that used the money to build a campaign to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in last year’s Israeli parliamentary elections, a congressional investigation concluded Tuesday.

Some $350,000 was sent to OneVoice, ostensibly to support the group’s efforts to back Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement negotiations. But OneVoice used the money to build a voter database, train activists and hire a political consulting firm with ties to President Obama’s campaign — all of which set the stage for an anti-Netanyahu campaign, the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations said in a bipartisan staff report.
