If only Maxine had Maxine’s insight

There really is only one answer that fits perfectly to the question: “Heard any good congressperson jokes lately?”
Answer: “Maxine Waters”.

See if you can spot our version of this story written in the style of the liberal media when it wants to ‘subtly’ convey a “message”.

“Auntie Maxine” is this year’s winner of the coveted 2017 “Black Girls Rock!” social humanitarian award!

The towering intellect of the US House of Representatives, Maxine Waters, is this year’s winner of BET’s “Black Girls Rock” award for her “commitment to truth, justice”, and “the way you keep it real all the time”.

In accepting the prestigious award, “Auntie Maxine”, as she’s known by her fans, promised to seek the impeachment of the first white President of the United States in 8 years.
She expressed her gratitude to “black women” who have shown her respect, for convincing her that she’s not “too black, too confrontational, too tough, or too disrespectful” of an assorted group of “haters”.

Because of those black women, Ms. Waters realized that she’s “simply a strong black woman.”

BET Described Waters as a “fearless and outspoken advocate for (an) under-served population”.

In all seriousness, this whole spectacle was racism on parade. The ‘hate’ groups Ms. Waters spoke of were what she and her cohorts on the left charge are “white supremacy” advocates. Waters was being honored because she’s black; she was vigorously applauded because her remarks were very specific to a black audience denouncing real or imagined ‘slights’ she and they have “suffered at the hands of racist whites; her announced “mission” was to impeach a president who is white and she has accused of being “racist”; and one must conclude the entire event was a celebration of black “celebrities” for their efforts in “taking on the white establishment”.

Pretty uplifting stuff.     DLH

But alas:

Maxine Waters to Trump: ‘Not only will we resist you, we will impeach you’
by Naomi Lim | Aug 23, 2017, 5:25 PM

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., promised during an awards show acceptance speech that she would not only resist the Trump administration, she would seek to impeach the president.

“I don’t care how big you are, I don’t care how high you think you are, if you come for me, I’m coming for you,” Waters said while accepting the 2017 Black Girls Rock! social humanitarian award earlier in August in Newark, NJ.

“And so whether it’s the president of the United States of America or any of his Cabinet, we will say to them ‘we will resist you, we will not allow you to damage this country the way that you’re doing, we will not allow you to take us backwards.'”

“Not only will we resist you, we will impeach you, Mr. President,” the Californian Democrat added.

Waters was honored by the initiative, which celebrates women of color excelling in their respective fields, for her commitment to truth, justice, and “the way you keep it real all the time.”

“Auntie Maxine,” as she is known to her fans, told the room they could do things others said they could not do before ending on the political note.

“I want you to know if it was not for the love and respect shown to me by black women, those right-wing, ultra-conservative, alt-right haters in this country, they would have me believe I’m too black, I’m too confrontational, I’m too tough, and I’m too disrespectful of them,” Waters said. “But now I know I’m simply a strong black woman.”

Waters has been a vocal opponent of Trump and his legislative agenda, most recently slamming him for his response to the violence in Charlottesville. She also became a viral sensation for continually telling Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin she was “reclaiming” her time during a congressional committee hearing about the international finance system
