The UN should move its plush headquarters out of this sh-thole country

VERITASPAC EDITORIAL STAFF REPORT:  Contempt For U.N. Nears 100% In America

Once again, all Americans should be asking why in the hell the US is paying almost $3 billion every year to support this corrupt entity and many of its equally corrupt and anti-US programmes (a little ‘proper’ noun choice for all those UN aficionados).  It is certainly a well-known fact that the US is the largest contributing country.
A 2015 Fox News report, however, presented a few other, perhaps lesser-known, yet, rather startling realities:

“- The U.S. is assessed 22 percent of the regular budget (approximately $622 million) and over 28 percent of the peacekeeping budget (approximately $2.402 billion).
“- Put another way, the U.S. will be assessed more than 176 other member states combined for the regular budget and more than 185 countries combined for the peacekeeping budget. Who says America isn’t exceptional!

“- Twenty countries will be charged the minimum peacekeeping assessment of 0.0001 percent or approximately $8,470 apiece. BY THE WAY, THAT’S 1 TEN THOUSANDTH OF 1%!”

– And every country gets one vote in the UN!

And there’s a few other facts that don’t require a “rapporteur” to do an exhaustive study to find out:

This is more than a complaint about dollars. It’s also about the value received for those outsized contributions. Consider:
· An independent academic study assessing best and worst practices among aid agencies ranked U.N. organizations among the worst.
· Numerous reports, audits, and investigations have revealed mismanagement, fraud and corruption in procurement for U.N. peacekeeping.
· Studies and reports have identified U.N. peacekeepers as the source of the cholera outbreak that ravaged Haiti starting in 2010, leaving more than 8,000 dead and more than 600,000 seriously sickened.
· A 2014 study of eight of the nine U.N. peacekeeping operations with a mandate to protect civilians found that peacekeepers “did not report responding to 406 (80 per cent) of [the 570] incidents where civilians were attacked.”
· U.N. personnel have been accused of sexual exploitation and abuse in Bosnia, Burundi, Cambodia, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Kosovo, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Sudan. Recent news stories from the Central African Republic and Haiti indicate the problem is still far too common and the U.N. is more interested in concealing the issue than in confronting it
· Atop all that, U.N. employees enjoy extremely generous benefits and salaries—over 32 percent higher than U.S. civil servants of equivalent rank.

To appreciate the grim irony of this “report”, one really should read the story as reported. The current leftist Democratic Party could well have bought dinner and drinks for “Special Rapporteur” Austin for his entire 2 week tour, then given him a copy of their fundraising letter, and sent him off to UN headquarters to present his report.

Come to think of it…maybe that’s what they did:  From the UN Report

The United States’ “immense wealth and expertise stand in shocking contrast with the conditions in which vast numbers of its citizens live,” the report states. “About 40 million live in poverty, 18.5 million in extreme poverty, and 5.3 million live in Third World conditions of absolute poverty. It has the highest youth poverty rate in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the highest infant mortality rates among comparable OECD States. Its citizens live shorter and sicker lives compared to those living in all other rich democracies, eradicable tropical diseases are increasingly prevalent, and it has the world’s highest incarceration rate, one of the lowest levels of voter registrations in among OECD countries and the highest obesity levels in the developed world.”

The “Rapporteur” forgot to add, “Vote for Bernie”, or Kamala, or Corey, or…”

Oh yes, Rapporteur Austin also forgot to add his own characterization of America as a “sh-thole country”!      DLH
