- Make your way in without getting caught, – win. Welfare system awaits.
- Get caught as you enter – win. Call it a not-so-bad waypoint prior to being released into the US. Welfare system awaits.
- Just wanted to enroll Felipe in a better quality school, a.k.a. “asylum”
Maybe Felipe’s parents should sue Chuck and Nancy for their ‘depraved indifference’ and misplaced encouragement; “C’mon in, bring a kid”
The mother of an 8-year-old Guatemalan boy who died in U.S. custody has revealed her family’s reasons for bringing the boy on the dangerous trek to the U.S. border.
In an interview with Reuters, Catarina Alonzo said that her husband took her son with him to the border in the hopes that the child would afford them easier entry into the United States.
Instead, 8-year-old Felipe Gomez Alonzo became ill and passed away.
“The children’s deaths have increased scrutiny of the conditions in migrant shelters and led CBP to conduct welfare checks on every single child in their custody. DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen is also personally taking a trip to the border to review her agency’s tactics in detaining migrants.”
“…the conditions in migrant shelters”???!!
Very willing to bet that the “conditions in migrant shelters” are a helluva lot better than ‘conditions’ on the hundreds of miles trek from Guatemala!
Furthermore, I’m convinced there is more concern by the US “CPB” for the welfare of the young children forced to endure the journey than by the parents who use them as their ‘ticket’ to a slice of America’s generosity and compassion.
Where do you suppose Alonzo and Catarina got the idea that subjecting their young child to the dangers and hardships of such an ordeal would ‘afford… easier entry into the United States’?
Now where’s that “immorality’, Nancy? DLH
And why not???
