The Biden Gang: Nothing classically liberal about them, indeed they are classically totalitarian

  • Those who think communism and tyrannical rule works for ’the people’ have their man (Biden) and their political party (Democrat).
  • Granny, suppression, oppression is here

This column at the Epoch Times, an important indeed brave publication, is a great example of what you can expect there. We hope you subscribe.  The article is by Michael Walsh and is, well, epoch as it says it all… such publications in the future, in our opinion, will be banned unless change comes about …

A Ministry of Fear Rules America

Commentary by Michael Walsh at The Epoch Times

Back in 1943, the British novelist Graham Greene published “The Ministry of Fear,” a thriller set in World War II London involving mercy killings, exploding suitcases, seances, Luftwaffe air raids, outright murder, insane asylums and undercover Nazi spies. It was successfully made into a movie the following year starring Ray Milland as the troubled protagonist, and directed by Fritz Lang, himself a refugee from Hitler.

Both novel and film capture the paranoid atmosphere during that troubled time, with danger lurking even in something as innocent as a cake. Whom or what can you trust? As the world falls apart, and the future is shrouded in threat and mystery, society devolves into a dog-eat-dog struggle for survival, in which neither the old verities nor the old pieties obtain any longer.

Welcome to America, 2021. In just a few short months since the mysterious elevation of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., inexplicably elected the 46th president of the United States, our country has undergone a stunning rapid devolution from a confident, economic powerhouse to a shabby debtor nation afraid of its own shadow.

The American Ministry of Fear, however, is not located in the Chancellery of the National Socialist German Workers Party in Berlin, but in every petty federal, state, and local bureaucracy, doctor’s office, TV news station, big-city newspaper, college and university in the country.

From the start of the COVID-19 manufactured panic, these agents of influence have waged a relentless war on the American psyche. And now, despite their miniscule majorities in Congress, they rule with an iron fist that brooks no demurral.

Destroy Trump

Their initial object, of course, was the destruction of the Trump presidency. This Coalition of the Vengeful tried everything, including announcing its intention to impeach Trump even before he had finished his inaugural address.

It manufactured the “Russian collusion” hoax, and implanted anti-Trump operatives within the administration at every level, from the Oval Office on down. It slow-walked, countermanded, and outright ignored presidential orders. And it leaked incessantly to the collaborative media, subverting Trump’s every initiative whenever and wherever it could.

COVID

And then came COVID. A product of the CCP virus that first materialized in Wuhan, China and then was unleashed upon an unsuspecting world, the weaponized product of both Chinese scientists working for the Chinese Communist Party and the amoral Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institutes of Health, Covid proved the perfect social and economic weapon against America. Its effect on overall health was negligible, but that was never its intention. Its purpose was to instill our very own Ministry of Fear.

In that, it succeeded spectacularly. Suddenly, every person in the country could be regarded as an infection point—and thus to be supervised, managed, and quarantined on a whim. Never mind that the danger from the virus was limited to the very elderly and the already seriously ill: a herd-cull disease familiar from thousands of years of human history.

Masks—at first discouraged, then demanded, and finally commanded—became a depressingly familiar sight, a sign of Americans’ incipient enslavement by the diktats of an unaccountable government-by-edict.

There’s an old—and very silly—saying to the effect that if you’ve got your health, you’ve got everything. How obviously untrue this is should be evident to every student of history. Milton was blind. Beethoven was deaf. Chopin was consumptive most of his adult life. Suffering from terminal cancer, Ulysses S. Grant finished his memoirs and died a couple of days later. None of them had his health; all of them gave the world something far more valuable.

But now the neuroticism of Manhattan’s Upper West Side—the quintessential big-government, red-diaper Leftist conclave in the nation that wields its influence through the New York Times—has, like COVID, infected every aspect of a once muscular America, debilitating it and sapping it of its vitality. Not just the unwarranted fear of a disease that even at its peak killed almost nobody, but of its media-fueled “variants,” which will continue on into infinity as an excuse for despotism and oppression.

Instilled Fear

Worse is the now-instilled fear of others; the justifiable fear of the anarchy in the streets unleashed by Black Lives Matter, Antifa, the knockout game, the assault on Asian-Americans, and other random acts of street violence no longer reined in by now-defunded police forces around the country.

Fear of further arbitrary and unconstitutional lockdowns, mask “mandates” of dubious or non-existent legal authority, and a thousand other trivial miseries that collectively add up to the very definition of tyranny, including “cancel culture,” speech police, and “woke” institutions and corporations that seek to impose crackpot notions of sex and sexuality on a population now too cowed and enfeebled to resist and fight back.

In the name of “health,” we are experiencing a monstrous evil, every bit as pernicious as the twin totalitarian catastrophes of National Socialist Germany and communist Russia during the last century—evils only finally suppressed at great cost in lives and treasure.

With the current unholy alliance between the Democrats and “woke” big businesses, what we are seeing is something akin to Italian fascism under Mussolini, in which the captains of industry (very much including social media, which at this point needs to be destroyed) work hand-in-glove with Washington in order to impose such things as speech codes and overt censorship that government alone cannot do.

How else could someone like Bill de Blasio—aka Warren Wilhelm, Jr., the socialist mayor of New York City—get away with his recent decree that patrons of restaurants, gyms, and cultural events must show proof of vaccination in order to gain entry? But rule-by-decree is now the norm in blue states such as New York and California, something unthinkable just two years ago.

Worse, we are finding it almost impossible to effectively combat. When the John Roberts Supreme Court failed the nation by refusing to hear the state of Texas’s lawsuit challenging the election, it signaled that it didn’t have the belly for a fight, no matter what the stakes, or how clearly the Constitution itself spelled out the court’s jurisdiction under Article 3, which states in Section 2 that “the judicial power shall extend to… to controversies between two or more states; between a state and citizens of another state.”

With its abdication, the Roberts Court—surely the worst since the heyday of Earl Warren, if only by its utter passivity in the face of the threat to our republican democracy—indicated that the American people were henceforth on their own, and ushered in the age of our very own Ministry of Fear. Unless it is smashed, its reign is likely to last a long time.

Michael Walsh is the editor of The-Pipeline.org and the author of “The Devil’s Pleasure Palace” and “The Fiery Angel,” both published by Encounter Books. His latest book, “Last Stands,” a cultural study of military history from the Greeks to the Korean War, was recently published.

Is this the Grassley view: In order to make a ham omelet — need to break a few eggs

Chuck Grassley voted to advance the 1.2 trillion dollar porkulas infrastructure bill

No whimper or “this is my strategy” from him that we are aware of

What risk did he place the country, advancing aspects of Democrat agenda?

Is Chuck Grassley so safe (either as the nominee or because he is retiring) that he feels he is effectively reproach proof on this, as regards policy and political damage to Republican brand?

The pro-life movement has been key to sustaining Chuck Grassley within the party

If the implication described in this article are not true, we do hope the good Senator will enlighten us

  • By this standard a whole lot of ANTIFA and BLMers might have been justifiable shot
  • Will Chuck and Joni tut-tut to their fellow senator?

What distinction would our Iowa federal delegation make given their unified DC beltway rhetoric after January 6 — to the effect some sort of murderous rampage was going on (not quite that over the top but nearly so by implication).

GOP Senator Says He Is Grateful for Ashli Babbitt’s Killer, Says Shooting Was Justified Because She Was a “Criminal”

By Colin Rgg

During an interview with Jay Thomas on “The Jay Thomas Show,” Republican Senator Kevin Cramer praised Ashli Babbitt’s killer, Lt. Mike Byrd, asserting that the murder was justified because Babbitt was a “criminal.”

Senator Cramer tried claiming that Babbitt was warned by the police before she was shot however there is limited evidence to support this claim. The comments from Cramer came after an angry caller called in to the station. While fielding questions as part of a radio program, North Dakota GOP Senator Kevin Cramer called 14-year Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt a “criminal,” and said he’s “grateful” for the Capitol Police Officer who killed the unarmed January 6th protestor for “not complying” with his orders from the other side of a barricaded door.

The comments from Senator Kevin Cramer came as citizens of North Dakota called in to “The Jay Thomas Show” to speak with their elected official directly. While on the line with the Senator, one caller asked that Cramer reveal the identity of the Capitol Police Officer who shot an unarmed election integrity protestor, Ashli Babbitt, to death from the opposite side of a barricaded door inside the U.S. Capitol building on January 6th.

“I’m quite sure – this is my gut feeling – that everybody knows the name of the guy that shot her,” the caller said, before asking Cramer to “be the one to leak his name.” Cramer asked the caller, “Why would I do that?” The caller replied that the American people “have a right to know.”

Still refusing to name the officer who killed Babbitt, Cramer told the caller that Babbitt was a “criminal” who was shot for the crime of “not complying with officers,” before again questioning why the American people would need to know the name of the “innocent” officer and eventually claiming that even he, as a United States Senator, has no idea who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt.

“The person that shot her is a police officer shooting a criminal not complying with officers telling her, ‘Stop. Don’t come through that window. We have guns drawn. Don’t do it,’” Cramer said. “They’re protecting people, and the officer was found to be innocent of any wrongdoing. So then what would be the purpose of releasing that officer’s name? What do you need to know the officer’s name for?”

“I don’t need to know it. I don’t know it. Why would you need to know it?” Cramer added.

The caller refused to give in and instead continued pressing Cramer by referring to highly covered a politicized shootings between police and African Americans and illegal aliens.

“For crying out loud, if you shoot an illegal alien we’re going to know that police officer’s name,” the caller told Cramer. “This is a police officer that shot somebody in our capitol and his name is being withheld!” Still, Cramer backed the move not to release the officer’s name, telling the caller that he would look into what the laws surrounding the decision before remarking that he is “grateful” for the officer that shot Babbitt. “I’m just grateful for the person quite honestly,” Cramer said as the call was ended.r

Educated Idiots

Colleges Today Are Such Rollicking Good Fun…in our opinion, of course.

That is when the “professors” are as childish as their pampered students!

Did you know that there really aren’t just two ‘genders” (that is “male” and “female”)?

’No’, you didn’t? Well, if you were a student in the California “medical” school, you would be “enlightened”…learning from your ‘professors’ that the whole idea of ‘just two sexes’ is really only  a ‘made up thing’…a “construct”: “In other words, some of the country’s top medical students are being taught that humans are not, like other mammals, a species comprising two sexes. The notion of sex, they are learning, is just a man-made creation.”

As our ‘president’, the “Scranton Scrapper” would advise his one-time adversary, “CornPop”: NO JOKE”!!

Read the story…and remember, these young peoples’ parents are paying high tuition to get their offspring “educated”!!

University Of California Medical Prof Apologizes For Saying ‘Pregnant Women’

https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-california-medical-prof-apologizes-for-saying-pregnant-women

By  Chrissy Clark

When sex is acknowledged by her instructors, it’s sometimes portrayed as a social construct, not a biological reality, she says. In a lecture on transgender health, an instructor declared: “Biological sex, sexual orientation, and gender are all constructs. These are all constructs that we have created.”

In other words, some of the country’s top medical students are being taught that humans are not, like other mammals, a species comprising two sexes. The notion of sex, they are learning, is just a man-made creation.

Herzog reports that professors are afraid of the blowback from students who don’t believe in the reality of biological sex. These elite institutions host online forums where students are allowed to correct instructors and lodge complaints.

According to “Lauren,” during an online forum, one student called a professor out for using terms such as “male” and “female” and began crying.

UC medical students also circulate petitions that call out professors for “wrong speak.” One professor was called out for using the pronouns “she” and “her” and the terms “father” and “son.” Students submitted a petition denouncing the professor for the use of “cisnormative” language.

The professor emailed the class and apologized for the use of “binary” language.

“This hypersensitivity is undermining medical training,” Herzog opined. “And many of these students are likely not even aware that their education is being informed by ideology.”

This newfound “woke” medical language is not exclusive to medical schools in California. The National Health Service (NHS) in Britain adopted “gender-inclusive language” for its maternity services, according to BBC. Hospitals will now use the word “chestfeeding” instead of “breastfeeding” and “birthing parent” instead of “pregnant woman.”

The terminology has also made its way to Congress. In May, Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) referred to women as “birthing people” during a hearing for the Committee on Oversight and Reform.

What’s up with Chuck?

  • A view about Chuck Grassley
  • Goofy fund-raising letter from him

Chuck Grassley seems to have the prestige (read seniority) to be largely criticism proof in much of so-called corporate or establishment conservtism. We are not that, so we do not find him somehow above reproach on all matters even with the good he has done. He is positively immeasurably better than any Democrat would be as our senator, but then any conservative would be as any Democrat is that bad.

We also recognize Chuck has some unique qualities that serve to help him get reelected,  especially an image as a down-home guy  unadulterated by Washington, a hard-worker that has not lost touch which endears him to just about every Republican and which seems to be the extent of political analysis of no-party voters.  It also helps that a percentage of blue-color Democrats don’t hate him, over the years depriving their official challengers of serious momentum. And for now the Iowa Democrat state-wide bench is vacant or pathetic for just about anything beyond their present safe districts.

How unadulterated Grassley is we find debatable as he is an insider, “ranking member” on just about everything,  but his nail-biting and over-the-top DC establishment rhetoric even weeks after key facts about the events of January 6th, was very wrong and perpetuated the  outrageous treatment of many essentially political prisoners for what would be misdemeanor infractions at worst, or ignored, if done by favored Democrat groups.

Any tut-tuts now about their treatment do not sit as well without an apology for his being part of the DC political mob action against them.  This is without getting into the weakness of his constitutional analysis that the Constitution and Congress is confined to rubber-stamping suspect-at-best elections.   It was not a check-mate situation, historically, morally, even practically.  Instead we got high-sounding acquiescence that ushered in the abominations, there is no better word, of the Biden gang, and a foothold for the great reset against the last great hope for national resistance to lead the world to more freedom, not less. Chuck you did not do all that could be done to protect the republic at a key historic moment. And by the way we do not appreciate your hectoring to get “vaccinated” with current COVID 19 experimental genetic injection.

The forgoing we find necessary to insure understanding that we will support Chuck Grassley should he choose to run again and achieve the party nomination (his for the asking in spite of his age on paper) we will compliment him where due, critique his performance and hold to the analysis that any Democrat could not possibly be as good and the fundamental realization that we must get at least one house of congress in the midterms with margin to protect from certain RINOs.

Oh there are some Democrat insider favorites to run against Grassley, who the Democrat apparat can develop some yellow-dog momentum behind, but more as sacrificial lambs for the purpose of not giving Grassley a free ride, as in, “we will appreciate your service to the party.”

If Grassley were suspected of not running there would be noises by now from Republican candidates, but there is no one to even force a play so to speak that we are aware of.

Which brings up this puzzling, cheesy at best, goofy letter from him.  Check this out (our comment below)

Grassley for Senate
Hi Friend,

I have a major announcement regarding the 2022 Senate race in Iowa.

Iowa is under attack! The Democrats are making our state a TOP TARGET and one of Nancy Pelosi’s most loyal foot soldiers announced she’s getting into the race. They are coming for Iowa’s Senate seat, and we have no chance of restoring the Senate Republican Majority if Iowa’s flipped blue.

The most recent Democrat to jump in the race is already raising thousands from California and New York liberals, and she JUST announced her campaign!

It has been less than a week, and we can’t afford to fall behind.

To make up for any shortfalls this month, we’ve decided to match all donations – but we still need to raise $30,000 to keep up the pace.

We are SO close to this, BUT if we miss this goal the Radical Left will gain even more momentum.

We cannot let this opportunity go to waste! Let’s take full advantage of this generous opportunity to help stop the radical Left.

Can you chip in $25, $50, or $100 to help keep Iowa’s seat RED?

DONATE $25 FOR 3X THE IMPACT
DONATE $50 FOR 3X THE IMPACT
DONATE $100 FOR 3X THE IMPACT

Thank You,

Grassley for Senate
Senator Chuck Grassley

V’PAC comment

1)The tease about major announcement (impliedly regarding him)  is cheesy as he has not announced so how is it appropriate to ask for money to his coffers?

2) Cogitate on this, keeping in mind that the schtick on this is a “matching” gift letter, a worn out ruse from just about every fund-raising operation.

To make up for any shortfalls this month, we’ve decided to match all donations – but we still need to raise $30,000 to keep up the pace

It says he will match donations using the committee’s own coffers!  Seriously?  The usual schtick is to refer to an outside donor who will match to whatever extent. If what he wrote  is what he meant then he does not need any money or it is one pocket to the other with no net gain except from you. Really goofy.

Our suggestions for other NFL team names if not nicknames

May we offer some suggestions for name changes for other NFL teams?

“…how did Cleveland land on “Guardians” as its new NFL team name?

The new mascot pays homage to the “Guardians” of traffic statues near Progressive Field in Cleveland, located on the Hope Memorial Bridge. Cleveland owner Paul Dolan noted Friday he hopes the name “Guardians” helps “unify our fans and city.”

How about instead of the “49ers”, which incidentally is named for a bunch of racist white gold hunters, the San Francisco team , like Cleveland, name  its team after the city’s most famous feature…the San Francisco ‘Homeless’!

And. the Atlanta “Falcons” (nasty predatory birds)? How about the “Atlanta “Bottoms”, named for their great mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms.

And,rather than the “Los Angeles Chargers”, how about the Los Angeles “Covid Masks”, to honor the state’s main feature favored by their governor?

Also, there’s the “Washington Football Team” who had to give up their “Redskins” mascot name, because they refused to heed our suggestion to put the image of a potato (a ‘redskin’ potato) on their helmets. Now they can’t come up with another name. Might we suggest the Washington “Hunters” (one of the city’s best known members of the current president’s family and the articulate dope-smoking buddy of the city’s best-known former mayor*).

More submissions welcome!

Good followup on Babbitt’s killer

Excellent piece by Angelo Codevilla (a favorite of Rush)

Everybody seems to know that Ashli Babbitt’s killer was a Black Capitol Police Lieutenant,  Michael L. Byrd

WHY NOT AWARD ASHLI BABBITT’S KILLER THE MEDAL OF HONOR?

https://amgreatness.com/2021/07/22/why-not-award-ashli-babbitts-killer-the-medal-of-honor/, ;

Byrd’s background lends itself to the scheme. Sure, he’s Pelosi’s boy. But it seems colleagues dislike him—whispering to the media that he left a loaded Glock in a men’s room and bragged that his connections would shield him from the consequences. But even if he were a saint, there is no alternative scapegoat for the government’s misdeeds on January 6.”

” As usual in Washington, the coverup ends up being far more serious and revealing than the crime. Perhaps Attorney General Merrick Garland will recall that one of his predecessors, John Mitchell, spent time in Club Fed for helping to cover up a far lesser crime. “

Selective use of “anti-commandeering” doctrine?

“…according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Mr. Abbott, a Republican, last month declared the state’s border situation a disaster, a classification typically used for events such as hurricanes. He said state troopers in Texas would begin arresting immigrants for trespassing, a new approach in responding to increased border traffic. Immigration enforcement is normally left to the federal government.” Wall Street Journal, Friday, July 23, 2021

————–

We recently posted a piece that noted that illegal immigration proponents may use the “doctrine “ of “Anti-Commandering” to allow states and cities to establish “sanctuaries” to protect illegal immigrants from federal law.

In an article on Friday, the Wall Street Journal noted that “immigration is normally left to the federal government…”. REALLY? What about that ”Anti-Commandeering” Doctrine?

———–

If, like me, you’ve wondered how states and cities can choose to be “sanctuaries” which seem to flout federal immigration laws, here’s your answer:

“Legal Insurrection” Suggests Best Legal Doctrine for States and Cities to Create “Sanctuaries”

https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/07/crucial-components-in-the-creation-of-successful-2nd-amendment-sanctuary-states/

“Anti-Commandeering”

Anti-Commandeering is a well-settled and well-supported legal principle—the federal government cannot force state officials to prosecute and enforce federal law.

State officials cannot be compelled—or “commandeered”—to complete federal tasks. Sure, states can voluntarily cooperate with federal law enforcement, which they often do in exchange for federal handouts, but states cannot be forced to do so. (In effect,”sanctuary” communities can declare that there is no such thing as an “illegal immigrant”.)

‘Rona not the only threat: Scott County Republicans show support for PPE’s “personal protective equipment”

Expressed support of Second Amendment rights and Iowa’s protection of gun rights which combined are implementations of the God-given right to protect yourself and family have been a staple of Republican platforms locally for decades.  The local party has announced a fund-raiser that involves the raffle of  a pistol or pistols depending on the number of raffle tickets sold. Raffle tickets for the pistol(s), made by Springfield Armory a high-quality local (Geneseo IL) arms manufacturer are available through information in this flier.  We find the choice of fund-raiser demonstrative of solid support within the leadership of the local party for U.S. and Iowa law protecting gun rights which are under constant assault by the Democrat Party and the Biden gang.

Grassley votes to facilitate trillion-dollar infrastructure package

Not even denizens of the swamp believe this does not impact taxes  — that the same Republicans will submit to force majeure when paying the piper (inflation if not taxes) has to be addressed. Nor do the denizens not believe this won’t put Democrats on a roll to their greater goal (all or part) of  a “human infrastructure”  package in the trillions.  Of course a face-saving for Chuck and Kyrsten will be a “compromise” down to maybe 2.99 from 3.2 trillion.

Thanks for watching out for us on this one Chuck.

From the Washington Examiner:

The Senate voted to advance a $1.2 trillion infrastructure package after weeks of stalled efforts to reach a bipartisan deal.

Enough Republicans joined Democrats to achieve the 60-vote threshold needed to start debate. The vote was 67-32. Lawmakers will now begin considering amendments.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, the White House, and a bipartisan group of senators announced the accord earlier Wednesday.

“We’ve made a lot of progress so far on an historic investment in our nation’s core infrastructure that will be fully paid for without raising taxes,” Indiana Republican Sen. Todd Young said in a statement after the vote. “I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle as we sand and polish the final product.”

WHITE HOUSE MIXED MASK MESSAGING COULD HAMPER ADHERENCE TO CDC GUIDANCE

Republicans and Democrats worked out how to fund water infrastructure and last-minute disagreements over regulations on broadband rates.

The measure includes funding for traditional infrastructure projects that will address the nation’s aging roads, bridges, and waterways. It will also provide $65 billion to help expand broadband access.

Among those backing the measure was Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. The Kentucky Republican announced he would vote to advance the bill about an hour ahead of the vote.

White House officials touted the bill Wednesday afternoon. White House chief of staff Ron Klain said the measure would make “some of the largest investments in a generation,” on roads, bridges, transit, and broadband.

Funding is also included to remove lead water pipes and build more electric vehicle charging stations, Klain said on Twitter.

Democrats hope the passage of the infrastructure measure will serve as a springboard to approve a second and much more costly spending package unilaterally.

Democrats have crafted a $3.5 trillion framework that would fund many social spending programs to expand healthcare subsidies, provide free preschool and community college, and much more.

Schumer, a New York Democrat, told reporters Wednesday Democrats are “in very good shape to move forward” on a budget resolution that would pave the way to pass the massive bill later this year and without any GOP support.

Schumer did not answer a reporter who asked about comments made by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema earlier Wednesday that suggested the $3.5 trillion price tag is too high.

Sinema, an Arizona Democrat, suggested in a statement to the Arizona Republic she would back advancing the spending plan but wants to reduce the top line cost.

“I do not support a bill that costs $3.5 trillion — and in the coming months, I will work in good faith to develop this legislation with my colleagues and the administration to strengthen Arizona’s economy and help Arizona’s everyday families get ahead,” Sinema said.
