The Whimsical QC Times Editorial Page

Speaking of fawning coverage we move to 2011 and the “whimsical”  QCT editorial (and news pages) treatment of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) “movement.”  Lacking a better word then “movement” one need not infer a pun is intended regarding the infamous OWS participant seen defecating on a police car, as reported in conservative journals.  No doubt that was just another act to be ignored as mere “whimsy” by QCT standards, akin to the yoga mats they did refer to.

The coverage of the OWS by the QCT has been an exercise in beguiling the public and going along with the OWS organizers in protecting the Obama administration from any logical focus regarding their complaints.

Reading the QCT editorial , you will find the following gem (referring to the OWS protestors):

“They simply see America suffering at the hands of Wall Street decision makers and congressional ditherers whose allegiance seems first to investors and campaign contributors.  Some have derided these protesters for their whimsical antics and naive ideals. Some have wished these picketers would just go home. Why? So Wall Street can return to “normal?”

Seriously, “congressional ditherers” ?! It was somehow impossible to have roll off their tongue or typewriter that the Obama political machine has been showered with Wall Street money and  Democrats in charge of the Senate have refused to bring up the 2012 budget bill proposed by their own President! They want to be vague and share blame when it isn’t due and suggest a moral, ethical or political equivalency to protect their guy.

By the way . . . perhaps it was whimsical forgetfulness that led to the abandonment of an infant at the ongoing DC  OWS “event’  and the dearth of coverage.

One thinks that had anything of that nature occurred at a Tea Party, the coverage would have somehow been more newsworthy, with useful follow-up as a human interest story (in other words to keep the story alive).
