J’accuse

The editors and publisher of the Quad City Times were an important link in the process of inflicting Barack Obama on the nation. True they endorsed Hillary Clinton over Obama for the 2008 nomination but more important to the process was the rock star treatment they showered on Obama.  The man could not fart without the QCT prominently telling us how sweet the aroma.

But the endorsement of  Clinton reeked of them feeling the pull of old Democrat loyalties, paying a due bill,  however much it must have been to their torment, because of the kisses and bouquets they sent to Obama in the lead up to the 2008 caucuses.  While indicating no order,  they did list him as second in their inventory of the candidates back then, when the alphabet would have called for other ordering. Indeed they indicated how it required a “tough tough” discussion not to pick him.  But more important to Obama was the glowing and excessive coverage they gave him from day one on prominent news pages which provided the credibility to amplify his recruiting and win the caucuses.

The QCT  knew they were helping Obama more than Hillary in that way, far more than a last splash endorsement.  Constant fawning coverage is more important in a primary race when candidates are striving for credibility and favorable name identification than an obligatory endorsement.

And this is their general approach toward him to this day!  IF they report a scandal relating to the Obama administration it is tendered to barely acknowledge a controversy for purposes of being able to point to their coverage in order to maintain a semblance of credibility.  But the story receives little followup, and the usual liberal spin is assuredly applied.

Later we will pass on an array of Obama linked malfeasances, singly or collectively,  and the readers can decide for themselves if the Quad City Times has been responsible in their degree of reporting compared to the treatment afforded Republicans on even mere allegations!
