Second Amendment sanctuary counties challenge grip of liberal enclaves

States dominated by political grip of Democrat enclaves, elect jack-booted nincompoops who don’t care what the people in 3/4 of the state believe

There is a big difference between illegal immigrant sanctuary jurisdictions and Second Amendment sanctuary jurisdictions although the supporters of the former decrying the later exposes the rankest hypocrisy.

There is no constitutional right or even serious argument allowing for illegal entry or other violations of immigration laws not to mention the other commonly associated fraudulent activity. Immigration holds involve “due process” as they are official requests regarding putative fugitives from justice and should be honored.

However there is solid Constitutional argument against enforcing or cooperating in searches and seizures that impact a Constitutional right of a citizen.  Police are obliged to use their discretion to avoid unwarranted violations as they are sworn to uphold the Constitution.  Longstanding policies exist in jurisdictions to protect citizens from unreasonable searches and the like or enforcing dubious contentions.

A jurisdiction that declines to cooperate in the most minimal of ways in the enforcement of immigration laws being duly prosecuted are playing politics and should have no claim to financial aid or other aid from other jurisdictions that provide aid in part assuming mutual cooperation. A contract is violated.

Admiringly we see that 23 or more of New Mexico’s 33 county sheriffs, duly elected as the chief law-enforcement officials for their jurisdictions, for practical reasons and in support of the Constitution have properly put on notice state officials who have undertaken to press them to violate Second Amendment and other Constitutional protections.

Those sheriffs for the most part we believe are also operating in furtherance of resolutions from their county government and will not enforce recent impingements on citizen rights emanating from the Democrat controlled legislature and the Governor. Good for them and a shout of BS to the Governor their for twitting  that the sheriffs were engaged in a “childish pity party“.

This is the same twit that referred to Trumps description of the border crises as a charade and denying such a crisis exists. She withdrew NM National Guard troops from supporting other federal authorities dealing with the crisis.  But it is a crisis — as the Hill refers to Vice President Pence’s warnings essentially sustained by reports in the NYT and Washington Post.

Regrettably the state of my birth and early formative years  has become like so many states (Illinois, California and others) — political hostage to overwhelming Democrat political machinery of one or two counties.  In New Mexico’s case, Bernallio County (Albuquerque) a university town and Santa Fe (Santa Fe). Most of the rest of the state is much more sensible.

The Governor Lujan-Grisham there is a leftist member of a well-connected political family.  She supports an “assault weapons” ban while being for weapons of mass destruction in the hands of abortionists at any time they choose until the moment of birth and beyond.  She believes political spending does not count as free speech so speech can be limited or even banned by her lights.  Her leftist fealty is without significant exception. New Mexico is rich in oil and natural gas yet its Governor issues edicts and allies with those desiring to inhibit use and development, handicapping industry and prosperity in the state. Reminds us of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her agitation against Amazon resulting in billions of lost income to her district and jobs to her constituents.  Well you get the picture . . . which is remarkably like Katie Couric, and about the same age, IQ and liberal quotient.
