This is what the Des Moines Register’s and some other polling outfits do – pump the Democrat throughout the season, shaving wherever they can, helping their person as much as possible then get serious in their last poll so they can claim some creds. The issue responses in the poll are unfathomable but reflect the news reporting of the sponsoring paper throughout the year. The economy being key is something they cannot fudge as much as people don’t need the papers spin on that to know the good news. I do not think this motivates Dems to get out and vote. If it were the opposite (Biden ahead) it would motivate us though. Off to Dubuque to hopefully see the once and future Pres.
PS The GOP in Iowa has been part of creating an aura of early and mail in voting to the detriment of good government and election integrity — if results are unclear election night they have themselves in part to blame.
