Rush, fighting for conservatism with humor is your strength, keep going

Your legacy is set but a new chapter is being added.  We pray it involves your recovery.

Stilton Jarlsberg has a great tribute that matches so many people’s experience with Rush.  From Stilton’s Place

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, impeachment, state of the union, schiff, trump, coronavirus, rush limbaugh, cancer
The one and only. A magnificent patriot and an inspiration to millions.

On Monday’s broadcast, RUSH LIMBAUGH shared the news that he has been diagnosed with late stage lung cancer. We’re still in shock and more than a little disoriented. This isn’t how the world is supposed to work.

More than ever, we desperately need Rush’s clarity of thought, keen analytical abilities, unsurpassed ability as a communicator, his wonderful sense of humor, and the calming influence of his optimism and positivity. His accomplishments and his ongoing importance cannot be overstated.

Rush Limbaugh, through his radio presence, was our personal conduit into the world of Conservative thought. When he first appeared in the Dallas radio market, we heard that he was a whack job and raving wild man of the airwaves. And so we tuned in, expecting an enjoyable freak show. We couldn’t have been more wrong.

What we heard on Rush’s show was sanity and perspectives we’d never thought about previously. In fact, it was Limbaugh who made us realize that we hadn’t really been thinking at all when it came to politics, just acting on feelings and untrue stereotypes. Which is one of the reasons why, years later, we’re still blogging to do penance for the many Democrats we voted for when we were young and stupid.

In our home, Rush Limbaugh has become a friend and companion. A constant over the years, and someone who we knew could both enlighten us and simultaneously lighten our burdens.

Rush’s cancer diagnosis has hit us hard emotionally, but we’re a long way from giving up hope. Limbaugh is a fighter, and we don’t believe that we’ve heard the last from him. He has a rough medical road ahead, but hopefully he will be buoyed by the sentiments and prayers of the millions who love him.

And in the meanwhile, we’ll do our best to soldier on right here – speaking truth as accurately as we can while mixing in enough humor to make it go down smoothly. A combination which we definitely learned from the man behind the golden EIB microphone.

BREAKING NEWS: Rush Limbaugh received the Presidential Medal of Freedom at last night’s State of the Union Address! What an unexpected and delightful moment.

SOTO STUPENDOUS

Our emotions ran heavy. We cheered,  we were saddened, we were exalted, we were fortified, we were disgusted by the Democrat response, we were pleased they were exposed . . .

Based on DLH’s post yesterday, prior to Trump’s State of the Union Speech, he pulled out a quote that must mean he was privy to the speech because it largely described what transpired:

“Americans need to face the truth about themselves, no matter how pleasant it is.”

Trump exalted America and set forth his record and did so in the face of the people that are demonically trying to stop America. Demonic is the primary word that came to mind as we watched the faces of the Democrat leadership seated, and sit they did, throughout the speech. Hate oozed from their eyes, their body language, their expressions. It was AMAZING what they exposed of themselves. Schumer, the blanch shirted femanazis, Pelosi in a bad mood to start with, having a bad denture day. They are mad.  They are rip-snorting mad at being exposed as they exposed themselves.  Speaking of which Nancy Pelosi’s drama queen scene (we heard she stamped her feet as well) ripping her copy of the SOTO address was “priceless.”

Ripping things up is really nothing new for Democrats.  It is what they do.

Trump’s demeanor was entirely appropriate. I would not shake the hand of a leader in a coup against America.  As for the SOTU speech, that Trump set forth his successes was entirely par for SOTU course.  That is what Presidents use the SOTU for and to call for more support. Look back at all of them in recent decades. But Trump never mentioned the coup attempt even though the conspirators were in the room.  But from the looks on their faces it was clear THEY knew THEY were on trial there.  It was a sight to behold.

Yes, Democrats got burned last night, like vampires meeting the sun:

Trump was defending us as much as his record. The Republicans in the House and Senate (well most of them) can take heart.  The night in important aspects was about the Democrats. Exposing them.

There are so many vignettes that could be discussed, delighted in, disgusted in. The personages introduced were brilliant.  We think the introduction of the toddler born at 21 weeks gestation, the lead-up to a call for a true ban on late-term abortion, again exposing Democrats, was inspired.  Her mother, holding her, cheering Trump’s call . . . I don’t have words right now. But imaging those blanch shirted femnazis in the audience who support legal abortion on demand for any reason at any time paid for with tax dollars . . .

IF YOU WERE UNABLE TO WATCH THE SOTU ADDRESS YOU MUST. As a convenience we embed it herein:

Democrats still scrambling to cypher caucus results

So still no word about who Iowa Democrats are going to pick to lose to Trump. ARITHMETIC IS HARD.

We have an idea, call Jethro, he’s good at gusintas.

Actually Jethro would outperform the Dem caucus cyphers

Via Stilton today:

IOWA CAUCUS SNAFU – . . . we think we can blame Democratic mischief and Democratic incompetence for the spectacular fustercluck which was likely intended to produce the credibly faked results that the DNC really wanted. Another perfect example of why Democrats shouldn’t be trusted to run anything. Not to mention a great example of which party really interferes with honest elections.

Seriously, in 1600-sum caucus locations the Democrats could not find one person in each to do the math and operate a phone. BUT PUT THEM IN CHARGE OF THE ECONOMY.

The Democrats unquestionably run the education system in Iowa. Too bad the chickens never left the roost.

ARITHMETIC IS HARD!

  • Largely Democrat run education system on display
  • We did not make this up
  • So manually adding up tallies from precincts is so very difficult

Press release from Iowa Democrat Party

DES MOINES — This morning, Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price released the following statement:

“Last night, more than 1,600 precinct caucuses gathered across the state of Iowa and at satellite caucuses around the world to demonstrate our shared values and goal of taking back the White House. The many volunteers running caucus sites, new voters registering as Democrats, and neighbors talking to each other about the future of our country demonstrated the strength of our party.

“We have every indication that our systems were secure and there was not a cyber security intrusion. In preparation for the caucuses, our systems were tested by independent cybersecurity consultants.

“As precinct caucus results started coming in, the IDP ran them through an accuracy and quality check. It became clear that there were inconsistencies with the reports. The underlying cause of these inconsistencies was not immediately clear, and required investigation, which took time.

“As this investigation unfolded, IDP staff activated pre-planned backup measures and entered data manually. This took longer than expected.

“As part of our investigation, we determined with certainty that the underlying data collected via the app was sound. While the app was recording data accurately, it was reporting out only partial data. We have determined that this was due to a coding issue in the reporting system. This issue was identified and fixed. The application’s reporting issue did not impact the ability of precinct chairs to report data accurately.

“Because of the required paper documentation, we have been able to verify that the data recorded in the app and used to calculate State Delegate Equivalents is valid and accurate. Precinct level results are still being reported to the IDP. While our plan is to release results as soon as possible today, our ultimate goal is to ensure that the integrity and accuracy of the process continues to be upheld.”

Tonight’s State of the Union Message

What a great quote as America prepares to hear from our nation’s biggest fan and booster, President Donald Trump:

“Americans need to face the truth about themselves, no matter how pleasant it is.”

The quote was by Jeanne Kirkpatrick and reported in a column by William McGurn in Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal.       dlh

Demo Caucus — So did Hillary’s guy Mook it up ?

  • SAD!
  • Iowa Democrat Caucuses results still pending
  • Software by the people that brought you Obamacare
  • We bet Bernie did not win even if he did
  • Poor Democrats, cheating is OK with them, they just have not found a way to make it look like they are not cheating (thanks to DK for that line)
  • It is reported that Hillary’s guy Robby Mook’s firm came up with the caucus reporting phone “ap”
  • Could it be the results were not as desired so the proper results needed to be built in
  • Why don’t they toss a coin or something
  • Party apparat still relying on building in confusion, make the responsibility trail convoluted,  and then determining the results

The bad thing is that looking at the pictures from the Democrat Caucuses, many of them look normal.  To be sure, they have heads full of toys, irresponsible ideas, but many look normal. That they crave big government, many aggressively so, makes their chosen party dangerous. We will have a fight on our hand for every office. To say the least, he educational system has not served our Republic well. Nay, it is in the process of trying to collapse it.

Reading about the Democrat caucuses at the QC Times:

First in the nation comes in late

The kerfuffle could all but eliminate the impact of the results, as Iowa Democrats gathered to choose a nominee to face Trump.

A little about our experience at our Republican caucus in a later post.

Super Bowl sponsored by Pepsick …

. . . ~ For those who think dung~

In recent years watching the Super Bowl for the commercials has become voyeurism rather than a celebration of Americana. Hard to imagine that at one time what was a cultural event, the commercials, is now about watching a train wreck.  As reader TN commented:

-“Liberated” women shaking their ass on stripper poles.

-Threatening male, all in WHITE, wearing an inverted crucifix, singing in Spanish.

-Children in cages.

-“Born in the USA” with US flag transitioning to PR flag, both flags in Pepsi colors, moving immediately to Pepsi commercial.

-male dancers in bondage outfits doing calisthenics to bad music.

They left out a border wall and voter registration booths

(no image of )…  caravans full of heavily pregnant women, military age males, behind flags of Latin American countries, allegedly walking 2000 miles but not needing new footwear, with charged smart phones, complaining about ethnic food served on arrival.

Who recruited/organized these people?

Who organized logistic support enroute?

Why are organizers not in GTMO?

Not to mention — Headliners making a scene, refusing to stand for the national anthem . . .

Super Bowl Ads…category nominees

If the Super Bowl were about football, specifically THE World Championship Game, and not about the ideas and “sales pitches” of the sponsors of the commercials  — television viewers, the NFL, and perhaps the American culture itself, would be far better off.

For viewers, a part of their intelligence that is damaged by the inanity of the commercials would be avoided. For the NFL, its foolish pandering would not be on display for the entire world to see. And for the American culture, that percent of gullible viewers who think the ads are anything more than the product of a small band of fringe ‘social architects’, the true greatness of America would have a better chance of remaining intact.

————

My nominee for the most inexplicably confusing “commercial” (and there were many possible winners) is the “opener’:

“Take it to the House, kid” . . . What was that all about?

Opening commercial, has black kid running…and running…and running…along the way, over hill and dale, through busy city streets… cheered on by a wide variety of people who seem to drop whatever they’re doing and exhort the kid to “take it to the house…”. Kid arrives at Super Bowl site, ad seems to switch to live shot , and the kid ‘delivers a football’…huh???

———–

My nominee for the “Ad of the Day”!??:

SECRET comes out against ‘inequality’ in football. A heartwarming commercial in which the winning field goal (or extra point?) is scored by a kicker, and the holder.

In this one, as the crowd goes berserk over the “win’ delivered by the kicking pair, the two players remove their helmets… to expose their flowing tresses! The crowd is stunned! They, the kicker, and the holder, are…FEMALES!. The spectators are at first, aghast! How on earth…?

Then the males in the crowd, witnessing the approving smiles of their female companions, soften their expressions…smile…and burst into applause.

The Ad’s message appears on the screen; The sponsor, SECRET, the deodorant, has come out in favor of stamping out “inequality in football”!!!!!!

“Let’s kick inequality”, the commercial by “Secret” (the deodorant) announces!!!

Who knew?       dlh

Sanders Warren / Warren Sanders for Democrat nomination

This decision is so hard. We are like Democrats in our indecision on who they should support. We change hour to hour.

This morning we say: Lets have this fight!  All the Democrat candidates are on a glide-path to radical socialism. They are all Tweedle-Dummers but let’s give the most admitted redist of the red their day. In service to them, we point out that Joe, however mending his ways and endorsing all things radical today, “has some history.” He was associated with Obama and Hillary and they were not radical enough for the new party. As pointed out in some of the Bernie Bro sites, go with the winner!!

To be sure, Bernie and Warren support undoing the Republic, but Joe is a latecomer to that and we should go with the ones who mince no words. Bernie and/ or Lizbeth (MeMaw’s papoose) for the Democrat nomination!

Heard (hurd) on the streets from the same folks:*

~~The ploy to give Bloomberg a shot at the nomination must be resisted. We must take it to the streets.  Sure Bloomberg has a billion or two in F*ck You money he can throw at Trump.  They think Trump is going to win anyway, so why not reorient the coffers. But this is our chance.  Our time has come . “We” can’t survive 4 or 12 more years of Trumpism.

Platform resolutions for 2020 Republican caucuses

Here are some recommendations consistent with reinforcing existing planks and filling in gaps  in current county, district and state Republican platforms. Redundancy is not an issue at this stage and the process will consolidate planks as appropriate. Bring these to your caucus Monday February 3rd.  Visit  https://scottcountyrepublicans.org/ to find your location. Be there before 7:00 PM.

More could be added and we encourage items be sent to our comment section which we will try to have vetted and posted by 10:00 AM.  Bring them to your caucus for vetting whether or not we are able to post any more on a timely basis here.

Votes on each resolution can be done in short order calling for a vote individually with the results recorded on each.  Alternatively because there is no subject matter limitation at the caucus level a group of resolutions might be passed as “resolution 1 addenda to platform”. Numbers are provided to simplify referencing. Attendees with smart phones can be referred to this site in place of sharing or printing copies but paper resolution(s) must be submitted to the county.

In no particular order: (copy and bring with you)

1. Resolved: Scott County Republican Party opposes any bi-state taxing authority

1.1 We condemn the impeachment of President Trump as a totally partisan coup attempt. As related by Kimberley A. Strassel writing at the Wall Street Journal:

“Democrats broke every standard of due process, transparency and fairness in their House investigation, making a mockery of their constitutional duty.”

“They hid the identity of the original accuser, denying Republicans and the country the ability to judge his motives. They held secret depositions, barring more than three-quarters of House members, as well as the press and the American public. They called 18 witnesses, but blocked the president from calling any in his defense. The White House legal team was excluded from the proceedings—prohibited from cross-examining witnesses, denied the ability to introduce any evidence that spoke to the central question of the president’s focus on Ukrainian corruption.”

2.  We call on the Senate of the Unites States to speedily acquit President Trump

3.  We oppose wind and solar subsidies and mandates. These are mature industries and should stand or fall based on market based prices for energy.

4.  Resolved, We insist that the Republican Party and its candidates stand for honesty and integrity in all political advertising. We expect political campaigns to be conducted in a positive and truthful manner.

5.  Resolved, We call on our courts to interpret and apply the First Amendment as the Framers intended. The phrase, “the separation of church and state” as it is commonly used, contradicts the original intent and practice of the Framers of the Constitution. The First Amendment prohibits the establishment of a “state religion” and permits the exercise of religious freedom. Neither the courts nor government agencies should misuse or misunderstand the First Amendment so as to create a “so-called wall of separation” to the voluntary expression of religious belief.

6.  Resolved, We affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Iowa and U.S. Constitution and endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment’s protections apply to unborn children. We oppose using public revenues to promote or perform abortion or fund organizations which perform or advocate it and will not fund or subsidize health care which includes abortion coverage.

7.  We oppose the non-consensual withholding or withdrawal of care or treatment, including food and water, from people with disabilities, including newborns, as well as the elderly and infirm, just as we oppose active and passive euthanasia and assisted suicide.

8.  Resolved, We support the use of adult stem cells to advance modern medical research. We oppose somatic cell nuclear transfer (human cloning), embryonic stem cell research and any research that involves the destruction of unborn human life, and the commercial use or sale of fetal parts from induced abortion.

9.  We support the appointment of judges who respect traditional family values and the sanctity of innocent human life. We call for the appointment of judges who are committed to the original intent of the framers. We oppose judge made law.

10.  Resolved:  Republican Party at the county, district, state and national levels should hold our politicians to our platform.

12.  The metadata collection of  American citizens activities is an unreasonable search and seizure and should be ended as a violation of the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution.

13.  Resolved, Common Core State Standards have less to do with raising standards than lowering standards. They are an inappropriate overreach to standardize and control the education of our children so they will conform to a preconceived ‘normal…’ Common Core Standards are bad for our children and are a gross overreach into the lives of Americans by the federal government.

14.  We oppose Common Core State Standards (CCSS), because we do not believe in a one size fits all approach to education and support providing broad education choices to parents and children at the State and local level.”

15.  Resolved, Iowa’s community colleges are crucial to both cultural and technological advancement in the state. We support that an overall budget neutral parity (no added taxes) for Iowa’s  community colleges  be established.

16.  Resolved,  The voting records and known positions of nominated candidates that are substantially opposed to core principles and positions of this platform shall be used by Republican leadership in decisions about the use of Party resources, and interpreted as negative factors.

17.  Resolved, That candidates who receive Republican Party money be required to return to the Republican Party any financial help if the candidate bows out of the race or endorses a Democrat.

18.  We support the grass roots nature and development of our county, district and state platforms and believe they should be adhered to and added to as appropriate and not diminished to platitudes.

19.  Congress should make mechanisms for limiting the vote to citizens of the United States more uniformly secure and enforceable. Electoral college votes and seating of federal delegations from jurisdictions not in compliance with federal law or that are demonstratively lax in insuring the integrity of the vote under current law, those federal elections results should not be recognized whatever the venue.

20.  Resolved, we support citizenship status added to every census questionnaire
