Probably you’re not aware of this at all…Biden appointees are almost universally committed to ‘fundamentally transforming” the U.S. into a country that those who fled the Soviet Union, Maoist China, or Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela are very familiar with, and found so loathsome. Well, maybe you are aware, but it’s how they are attempting to go about it that is stunning.

“(CFPB) Director Rohit Chopra went so far as to attempt a de facto coup against Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Chair Jelena McWilliams, a Trump appointee.

Mr. Chopra wants to use bank merger reviews to exercise more political control over lending.”

U.S. Senate Is Doing Away with Filibuster When It Comes to Vote for Raising Debt Ceiling

Do read the article. Because our readers are politically savvy they will understand the considerations surrounding the filibuster, for and against.  Ending it to allow for more fiscal extravagance, aided and abetted by Republicans, members of the minority Party and supposedly the fiscal adults in the room with no concessions from Democrats, well that would seem to be faithlessness.

Reading the article, the precedent is set, thanks to McConnell and Joni Ernst, et al. It comes down to the filibuster only being available upon agreement between the leadership of the two parties, which means it really does not exist other than to provide political cover in agreed upon circumstances.

The concept that important matters ought to require super majority support is not unreasonable. With the current marginal tri-fecta at the federal level for the Democrats of course they do not want the Republicans to be able to stop their agenda or have to weather accusations as to who is at fault for tying up government or something. It is pathetic that Republican leadership believes that that argument cannot largely be won especially given the insane inflation and the fact that key goverment business, as usual, will go on.  No one will miss a SSA payment.  But the willingness of a group of Republican Senators led by McConnell which includes Iowa Senator Joni Ernst have gone along so effortlessly is pathetic.

Our Senators Chuck Grassley (for other but similar reasons and votes) and Joni Ernst are simply undependable as conservatives. On fiscal matters they will vote for prudence when it is fairly easy, but they can only be depended on to protect and enhance Big Wind and Ethanol subsidies and mandates. They are a bit of a tag-team of late, one takes up the others slack after conservative blow-back is felt to continue to allow the ratcheting of bigger government and fiscal irresponsibility.

Grassley helped bring us to the fiscal cliff with his vote on the first infrastructure bill (with profound process implications for endangerment of the republic that were telegraphed by the Democrats).  Grassley did so using the excuse that the worst of the larger “soft infrastructure” bill will not pass because of Senate protocols or something, even though the filibuster was off the table for that as well.

Now Joni Ernst steps up to help Democrats save face and make the ongoing fiscal insanity a bi-partisan thing. But worse, with her vote the implications are unavoidable. If she protects the filibuster henceforth, she is giving Democrats great power to protect all of their evil policies or she is signaling the filibuster is over and the deliberative institution is dead and the Democrats can do their worst for the next year at least.  In the mean time she tries to have it both ways.    Consider this observation included in the article:

interestingly enough, some of the Republicans who voted for cloture on the debt ceiling process change are now voting yes on final passage too. Barrasso and Thune are yesses. This is at a 50-vote threshold, so their votes are not needed. Ernst and Wicker are no.

Schumer and McConnell stop the 40 Senators who might get a better deal by maintaining the filibuster, and down the road after a new Senate, now minority leader Schumer still maintains the filibuster to protect leftest programs. Serious question: Why shouldn’t voting rights be an exception to the filibuster? Dems are fine with a filibuster exception to raise the debt ceiling. So why not for democracy?

Please Senator Ernst, Senator McConnell, do tell us.  The only option becomes to end the filibuster after a Republican takeover or with this agreement you have empowered Democrats to protect their worst.

I will not go into the merits of the health issue in itself, as you are much better informed than I am. Allow me to bring to your attention some reflections, observing the entirety of what is happening without focusing on specific details.

It now seems clear to me that the main purpose of this grotesque health charade is the imposition of a control system for individuals, implemented through the so-called green pass. We see therefore that we have an elite of criminals, gathered together in the World Economic Forum to conceive the Great Reset and in the United Nations to implement the Agenda2030, who have decided to decimate the population of the planet through some “scenarios” described in detail. They destroy national economies, cause poverty and unemployment, create discrimination and violations of fundamental rights with the sole purpose of controlling survivors, tracing their movements, modifying their lives, deciding their thinking, and establishing their health regime. This work includes the collaboration of rulers, public officials, doctors, magistrates, law enforcement agencies, the media and – as if that weren’t enough – even religious leaders. Calling it a “conspiracy theory” is an understatement: it is a coup d’état pursued with a clear mind and determination, a crime against humanity. Our enemy is not the virus, but the insanity of those who betray their duties to the detriment of the community, of those who believe they can impose the Chinese totalitarian model and social credit in our nations, in the name of a communist collectivism that takes away identity and freedom to each of us.

Typical, perhaps of”reporting” by certain ’news outlets’, this story raises unanswered questions; i.e. Did the Bruce family receive any compensation when the city exercised eminent domain? (Also, do certain Native American tribes have a claim prior to the “Bruce family’s”?)

ADVOCATES PUSH NATIONWIDE MOVEMENT TO RETURN PROPERTY ONCE OWNED BY BLACKS AFTER VICTORY IN CALIFORNIA.

Gavin Newsom (D) on Sept. 30 provided for a seaside park in Manhattan Beach to be returned to the Bruce family, which owned the land before the city used eminent domain to seize it in 1924. The victory was hailed as a watershed moment, the first example of Black people forcing the return of property that was taken from them by one means or another, often violently, over the years.

At the same time it raised a question: Would the Bruce’s Beach case be a one-off, or a tipping point in a national struggle over Black land ownership? Activists and scholars say there are other similar cases nationwide, but proving them — and getting the current property owners to cooperate — will be a different matter, forcing another chapter in the nation’s racial reckoning and raising thorny questions about how to right past wrongs.

“The reason it’s getting so much attention now is there’s been a precedent set and that’s what’s giving hope to other families,” said Kavon Ward, who helped lead the successful fight on behalf of the Bruce family and has co-founded a group called Where Is My Land aimed at advocating for other Black people who are trying to reclaim lost and stolen land. “This is just the beginning.”

Hard science says so-called indigenous peoples were not so indigenous after all, or at least not assuredly so. We were unaware taxpayers were so much on the line for the Democrat challenge to the Iowa election process that declared Miller-Meeks the winner for about the fourth time after various jurisdictional audits.  Story at Conservative America Today:

To challenge Miller-Meek’s election, House Democrats used a provision they had previously included in House rules to use public funding to retain counsel to represent their party before the Committee on House Administration. Democrats after that paid top-tier law firm Jenner & Block $699,294 after the election was certified by the Iowa secretary of state following an official recount.

Committee Republicans hired the firm of Jones Day to represent them in responding to the election contest. That firm was paid $126,942 for their work.

So either Jones-Day is a lot more circumspect or really bad at the gorging game. One fifth the Democrat rate — pikers.

To start with, if this is a justifiable expense of any amount, which seems suspect given that the tax supported recount system in Iowa had validated the election for Miller-Meeks several times, why isn’t it structured to be an even handed allotment to be spent evenly?

To the challenger goes the lion’s share?

So if federal funds are properly used this way for “challengers” to federal election “results” — shouldn’t Trump’s challenges in various  states be subsidized to that tune . . . five to one for Trump’s lawyers in each and every individual challenge?

Seems fair.

Here are just a few of her ‘WISE” COMMENTS, DRAWN NO DOUBT FROM THE “RICHNESS” OF “HER LIFE EXPERIENCE” .

The first is from her remarks before the Senate at her confirmation hearing. The second is from the Court’s hearing on the Mississippi abortion law which bans killing the unborn  after 15 weeks.

The third of many such statements by the learned Justice Sotomayor was also from that Court hearing and is a not-so-subtle disparagement of her fellow Justices, accusing them of being just what she herself is, an ideologue nominated for the Court by an ideologue…talk about STENCH”!…Sonia, go take a shower!

And, finally, a quote from left-leaning legal authority, Laurence Tribe, who, remarkably, says what many others believe to be true…Sonia is not as bright as she thinks she is! (No news there.)

Seven months of anxiety from the pro-life side for one thing, although there is optimism based on interpretations of the oral arguments, and a reading of other tea leaves. 

Seven months of POSturing  and agitating by the demonic abortion lovers, although there are reports of a level of resignation including that their side did not do well at the bar.

We, having been disappointed numerous times by the likes of Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Barrett and largely disgusted by Roberts, cannot predict the deserving total demise of the abortion license created by force of will of seven justices in 1973. But we pray for it.

Roe and its companion case Doe removed any meaningful protection for the right to life of unborn babies until the moment of birth, creating against the judgement of generations and inimical to any semblance of constitutional jurisprudence, the most wide open abortion license in the western world.  It sustained an ethos of the expendability of innocent human life of infants born alive after an abortion attempt and fed the notion that the right to life was dependent on the feelings of others.

Wade decision really was…and it exposes what phonies so many politicians, including Republicans, from Mario Cuomo to Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden really are…

“I protect my right to be a Catholic by preserving your right to believe as a Jew, a Protestant or nonbeliever, or as anything else you choose,” Cuomo said at Notre Dame, according to South Bend Tribune archives. “We know that the price of seeking to force our beliefs on others is that they might someday force theirs on us.”
In the speech, Cuomo said that banning abortion is “not a plausible possibility and even if it could be obtained, it wouldn’t work.” Instead, he said that the way to end abortion is to address its root causes, especially poverty. It is wrong for Catholics and people of other faiths to impose their religious dogma on others through law, the governor said.

HJP sent us this link to an expose by Glen Beck about the lies and coverups regarding COVID , gain of function research etc.   It is lengthy and a YouTube posting so who knows how long it will last there. We suspect Glen Beck’s  Blaze TV will have it archived. It sets forth a number of quotes that are dead-to-rights lies by Fauchi and company. As to the question asked in the title of the piece — Senator Ted Cruz has an answer —  he is a criminal and should be in jail for lying to congress.
