If you go to a gas station with the latest greatest in pumps you may be treated with a video screen to keep you occupied with local weather forecast, a public service announcement and ads of course.We took screen shots last night at one of our local stations of this public service missing persons notice.  You can imaging the utility of this ad with common or mandatory masking.  Just put a mask on the kids as you transport.  What would have been a trigger for a closer look (masking) is now obviated.

As we previously commented the idea of mandatory “covid-19” masking or even masking by shame, intimidation, corporate do-gooder or CYA policies for everyone including children inhibits the ability to have the public help find lost and missing children (or catch bad-guys).  We stand opposed to the endemic electronic surveillance society but we recognize and support the citizenry being on alert and reporting sightings leading to catching the good and the bad to help legitimate authority.   Besides lengthy wearing of bacteria laden cloth, re-ingesting same,  is not a healthy idea for kids or anyone.

Maybe others of you got the mailing below from The Republican Party of Iowa (RPI)

As implied above, one problem with this mailing is that they sort of got the wrong address.  It is addressed to my brother who passed away over a year and a half ago. They should have sent it to #1 Pearly Gates Way –  I am sure he is located there. The local auditor’s office for several years after her death sent a registered voter card to our mother. How many thousands of registered voters die in Iowa over say a two year stretch?  A bunch.  If the RPI got their “updated” mailing list from Iowa SOS Paul Pate’s office, a putative Republican, how dependable is the list for accuracy? Those thousands are just the tip of the iceberg for potential fraudulent use.

Republicans ought to question the utility of their donations going to a multi-fold, perfed, heavyweight enameled paper mailing to known registered Republican voters sent just for the hell of it on the off chance that it might land somewhere in the territory of the state of Iowa to a Republican home that does not know there is an election coming up and that you must be registered at some point to vote.  But add to that the utility of such a mailing when  Iowa offers election day registration, no preregistration actually necessary.

So why the drill-down to donor’s hard earned money?

Well one reason is to follow the money trail. Outside consultants and in-house employees want to show that they are doing something even if it is useless and costs gobs of money.   They apparently had no real imagination that day for at least combining any marginal utility of such a mailing with Republican argumentation.  In this expensive mailing there was none, no argumentation against Democrats with a perfunctory attachment of register to vote information.  Not even a message to vote Republican.

By the way, the particular mailing in question includes in the address information the usual “or current resident” (which always makes it personal). Which raises the question is the RPI trying to pre-register Democrats??  If they knew it was a Republican household why did they feel the expensive necessity to make such a mailing to a voting Republican asking if they were registered to vote, which is the lede to the communication?  Should not the list have told them what the registration was of the recipient?

It was a very poorly designed and purposed mailing not all that useful even to  the probable purpose of setting up more names to harangue to vote by mail instead of in person.

No it was pretty much a totally useless mailing because soon they will initiate the harangue to vote by mail RIGHT AWAY, the net effect of which is to contribute to the screwing up of a timely reporting of the results, inviting fraud vote harvesting and the like and generally thwarting good government arguments to fully evaluate all the candidates, some non-partisan and any issues on the ballot.

They will tell you to vote now and avoid the “reminder” calls as they will remove you from the list and you won’t receive anymore of the incessant content free calls. Bullshit. Not only have they long established that that does not reliably happen, as they use bad lists and parcel out duplicate lists that effectively stop none of the harassing calls, there is a plethora of other groups making the harassing calls as well.

Shame the pro-maskers

• Who does the general masking of children help?
• Not children, not herd immunity which will help save the vulnerable

• So far, ratio of  children going missing to death by Covid 19 in children is at least 1000 to 1

The sensational is what Democrat campaigns are all about,  so let them stew in the milieu they have facilitated for so long . . . “Not caring”

Many school districts are insisting that children wear masks during school, other regulators want everyone to wear them all the time, at least for “three months”.

In 2019 NCMEC assisted law enforcement and families with more than 29,000 cases of missing children.

91 percent endangered runaways.
4 percent family abductions.
4 percent critically missing young adults, ages 18 to 20.
Less than 1 percent nonfamily abductions.
1 percent lost, injured or otherwise missing children.

Of the nearly 26,300 runaways reported to NCMEC in 2019, 1 in 6 were likely victims of child sex trafficking.

What is that ratio again?

NCMEC says 29,000 missing children reported to them, CDC reports 28 children under 15 years of age died from Covid-19 to end of June. That is about 1000 to 1.  Another ratio relates to comparing ratios.  If 29000 children under 15 reported missing that compares to about the 61, 000, 000 in that age group in the US  or 29000/61,000,000.  the ratio oif Covid-19 cases in that age group to date is 28 to 61,000,000.  So again about 1000 times more chance of going missing.  Number of children 15 or under extrapolated from figures published at Child Trends.

Finding missing and exploited children quickly relies on promoting  visual recognition of them by distributing pictures everywhere. So called “Amber alerts” rely on it. Masks interfere with that, preventing human and thwarting image recognition cameras as well.

The all but ordained Democrat presidential ticket in a joint appearance told America that they would mandate mask wearing.  Unmuffled, it sounds like a winning strategy (to help  Trump) but then that’s just us.

This writer supports mask wearing in proximity to known vulnerable people but for countervailing health and social reasons regarding their use that is about all. Pretty much other than that, for most, get back to work, cover your coughs and sneezes assiduously, dispose of the tissue, wash your hands and the world will be in a better place as far as colds and flu are concerned. So I oppose general mask wearing out of concern for your health and that of children and puppy dogs everywhere

Here’s the thing though, if Biden means it, wow, if he misspoke and meant inside, well wow again. The latter would also be draconian BUT ALSO evidence, by such a key slip of the tongue, of his mental acuity.

The execution of a 5 year old boy by a 25 year old black man is a story that should be the lead in newspapers, TV and cable news, etc throughout the cycle, throughout the nation!

It has not been reported by MOST news outlets. I believe it is because it definitely does not fit the BLM narrative.

The ‘suspect’ (identified by eye witnesses) was not held in a chokehold, was not gunned down by the white police who arrested him; there have been no marches…no “Justice for Cannon” (the 5 year old)…and saddest of all, I’ve not seen any national news of what I would think, could be regarded as an incredibly shocking crime! The Daily Mail (UK) and The Blaze, and the local (area) No. Carolina paper and TV are the only outlets I’ve seen it reported.

Will Harris be quarantined in various Democrat run states?

So the woman who basically called Biden a racist and believed his sexual assault accusers, is now in bed with him.  What a piece of work she is.

The big national pandemic question is, is it not incumbent on Kamala Harris  to demonstrate she is as responsible as the top of the Democrat ticket and sequester, “self-isolate”, shelter in place, lockdown, travel with family only, social distance, essentially never show her face in public without a mask, ride a bicycle, in order to encourage compliance with Democrat  “public health authority” recommendations?

The Solution to Biden’s VP Problem: Michelle Obama  

This article lends credence to our illustrious senior editor’s bet, all of a dollar, that Moochelle will be the Dem’s Presidential nominee.  If they pick her as VP I will award the dollar because in effect that is what she would be elected to as Biden would be of no consequence were the team to be elected.  In a Moochelles pick, her handlers, Barack et al and her, would be the new old administration, populated to some extent as well by who-all else Biden is obligated to at this point.

But will she take it?  Perhaps pressure is building sufficient enough and I guess she never ruled VP out technically, only the presidential nomination.  And we all know what Obama promises are worth.  I still doubt it because she does not want to be part of a losing ticket. Certainly not to Trump and there is that the country is in dire straights, that the Obamas know they are incompetent to resolve and keep their Hampton buds happy.

This Willie Brown  – advisory to Kamala Harris may be interpreted to fit the Moochelle scenario, but I suspect other facets to the matter are also possible.  Perhaps more on that later this week.

The distraught Peggy Noonan writes:  “America Is a Coalition of the Worried”

There’s something I’ve been trying to write for a few weeks but can’t get my hands around—but it’s as if there’s no president, it’s an empty White House, nobody’s really there, it’s not an administration but an eccentric event that causes clamor. I’ve never had that feeling before, that a White House is empty and weightless. The media, whose job it is to hold it to account, are distrusted. A Knight Foundation-Gallup survey released this week showed 86% of Americans seeing “a great deal” or “a fair amount” of political bias in news coverage. The Democrats can’t agree on what they’re running on beyond “We’re Not Trump, ” which may or may not be enough, with a presidential candidate age 77 who sometimes seems confused. People can’t even be confident the election will work, that it will be orderly, that the old rough integrity of the system will hold. They know there will likely be no “election night” with states called and a winner declared. But will there be an election week? Month? 

Poor Miss Peggy.

In her 20th year writing a column for the Wall Street Journal, Peggy Noonan becomes more incoherent with each now-pitiful attempt to ‘put words to paper’.

Poor Peggy. in her column this week, Ms. Noonan is “worried”…and so is all of America, in her ‘mind’.

Maybe it is. Or, maybe the entire nation is not experiencing a ‘paralysis’ of fear and concern.

In Noonan’s case, she’s been “worried” since 2016 when Donald Trump was elected president. Before that Peggy apparently was an admirer of his predecessor, Barack Hussein Obama.

Prior to the Obama reign, Peggy was not so happy with G.W. Bush. That was mainly because, in our opinion, Mr. Bush just refused to recognize what Ms. Noonan considers her outsize talents, wisdom, and past contributions to the nation, made during her labors in the Reagan and GHW Bush administrations.

As we’ve noted before, Peggy’s most notable contribution to GHW’s “success” was her speech writing ‘gift’ to his eventual one term presidency: the “Read my lips, no new taxes” line she is famous for.

Probably, that was the principal reason behind GW’s failure to offer Peggy a high post, or any post, in his presidency.

Though, I ‘ve never seen the term “miffed” in any Noonan column or speech, I think it describes how she has felt toward GOP presidents ever since. Her view of GW and regard for Obama was reflected in the following:

In 2016, she wrote this: “He [Obama] has within him the possibility to change the direction and tone of American foreign policy, which need changing; his rise will serve as a practical rebuke to the past five years, which need rebuking…”

There was no such optimistic refrain at the beginning of Trump’s presidency.

And, for that and other reasons, Peggy Noonan has written herself into “has-been” status and as a columnist who doesn’t have much to say of interest these days.         dlh
